Easy to navigate, short lines and a few places to eat

TSA pre check can be done here now. This is an awesome airport. Easy to get around and clean.

Parking in Economy Lots is great. Free shuttle to the terminal and they are always waiting to pick you up at your spot. Great, courteous drivers!
It's a nice, clean and efficient airport. Expect airport priced food and drink, get that from mechanicsville or richmond before you fly out. TSA staff are friendly enough here
small airport. good access to temporary parking. make sure you get the right gate.easy to go through security for a gate on A when flight is on B and vice versa.

David GrapkaApril 13, 2013Check out the caribou coffee stand at the entrance to security checkpoints. Great menu and service. Where else can you get a coffee drink that tastes like a s'more?
TSA always has issues here. Get here early. The line, half the lanes shutdown, they're yelling, and you might think Stevie Wonder is checking ID's with the X-ray machines staffed by a senior home.- Good burger and fresh cut fries. If you are starving for a grease meal this the best at B gate.
The priority security check point in B is always and totally inefficient! One agent for priority, crew and general. Faster to go in the regular lane.
This airport is great, especially with the new renovations. If you're carrying on beware that flights to major hubs often run out of space and they force you to check your bag (at least on Delta)!

James UnderbergAugust 18, 2016Nice uncrowded airport - coffee from caribou coffee only - lots of small magazine stores but not much else - very pleasant experience !!
If you're flying out early some of the local hotels have an airport shuttle and let you leave your car for free.
Economy parking lot is only $7/day. The shuttle is super efficient and the airport is one of the nicest I have been in albeit small.
Good location with respect to I-95/I-295/895 access, but this is not the best side of town to be on. No good hotels nearby and poor ground transportation to and from the city. Rent a car if you fly in
Use James River Transportation for great comfort & car service. Better than a taxi & flat rate cost is as affordable. Love it.

This is a nice and relatively less-busy airport. Worth the drive to avoid lines in D.C.

Caribou has the best milk chocolate mochas I've ever had. If you need a fix be sure to get one...I mean it's fat free. ;)
RVA - known for amazing restaurants IN the city but don't depend on ANY good food at the airport.
Rental car pickup / drop off is really quick and easy- Richmond Airport RICJuly 9, 2012Easy access from the highway to the jetway offering nonstop flights to major domestic destinations and connecting service to points around the globe.
If you have 2 bags to check on AirTran, definitely upgrade to Bus Class for only $4 more.
Free wifi, who doesn't love that? Grab a milkshake from Cheeburger or a tea latte right across at Caribou.

Free wifi across the airport. Several restaurants and bars. Quite small so security is quite quick.
The process of getting to your gate takes about half an hour at most.
