The best risotto I have ever eaten was in Greece! The Hotel Grande Bretagne was hands down one of the most exquisite hotel I have ever been in. The personal butler was too short lived.
Probably the most luxurioushotel in town. The heavily decorated rooms & public spaces might not be for everyone, but the location opposite the parliament and the view from the top floors are unique!
If you can't afford to stay, just visit the Winter Garden in the ground floor for a coffee, snack, tea or a gorgeous meal. Or sit for a drink in Alexander's bar where the ambience is unique.
The structure was built in 1842 as a house for Antonis Dimitriou, a wealthy Greek from the island of Limnos. Bought in 1874 by Efstathios Lampas, who restored it & named it Grande Bretagne.
GB winter garden.Brunch time guys! Many choices for appetizers, juices, coffee and teas. Are you ready to pay €60/person for sandwiches and coffee? The good thing is that you can stay as long as you want
The hotelspa is amazing!..it's a journey back to the ancient Greece!.. Very relaxing!.. The roof top bar has an incredible view of the acropolis and the city of course
Having lunch in the rooftoprestaurant is an unforgettable experience, mainly in summer. Prices are reasonable for a 5* hotel. Not cheap at all though. As a result, you meet people of middle age.
Very nice piano bar at the ground floor and great view at the roof garden. Good drinks, nice plates, reasonable prices. I wish we could eat on the bar.
Very big hotel! Staff was friendly but they didn't make you feel like home. I felt like I was in the US as almost all other hotel guests were Americans. Overall, I enjoyed my stay there.
Roof Garden offers a pretty nice view, moderate service, tasty food with the proper portions! There is NO free internet though but maybe it's better 'cause you can enjoy the place, better!
Okay, I have to modify my review - the front desk here really sucks and they work at their own pace, but the rest of the hotel rocks. The restaurants are amazing and the concierge is first class.
ETERNAL ELEGANCE- With breathtaking views of the fabled Acropolis, the Parliament, lush Lycabettus Hill or the original Olympic Stadium, the multi-awarded 5 star Hotel Grande Bretagne offers an unrivalled perspective of Athens' mythical history.
