Share the fish & shrimp combo with chips with your date and split the fried Mars Bar to finish. Wash it all down with a Samuel Smiths Oatmeal Stout.

Attempt the challenge: 1 pound fish, 1½ pounds chips, 2 sauces tartar, a chip butty (it’s a sandwich of fries), mushy peas, and a coke. Finish in 15 minutes: eternal fame and it’s free. Fail: $35.

The seafood is wonderfully fresh, with a selection that runs to whiting, halibut, cod, cod roe, squid, scallops, and;our fave;rock salmon. Read more

Fish and tips: haddock's always fresh. Never leave without eating a fried Mars Bar! Don't forget a visit to Tea and Sympathy to complete the British diaspora experience.

Very authentic. The fish is freshly fried and awesome. Batter is slightly on the blander side, but still good. Chips were a little soft/soggy than what you'd find in most of the U.S.

Not only are the fish and chips top notch, this is one of only a few places in USA where you can find Lucozade, Irn Bru, and deep fried Mars Bars!

Authentic fish and chips spot. The fish could use a little seasoning, the tartar sauce is finger-licking good. There is also a wide variety British beverages.

This was definitely a traditional English fish and chips place. The fried shrimp are good and very large.

The larges are QUITE large (2 fishes). You probably want medium, hungry boy. If it’s lunchtime you want the lunch special. Lunchtime is 11:30am to 3:00pm.

Best place for fish and chips in NYC. Only missing newspaper but that’s ok. The fish and batter are great.

If you go with 2-3 ppl just get one order of fries. They are MASSIVE and the fish fills you up big time so you just eat a few chips anyway.

The fish is top notch. Battered after you order. Fried in vegetable oil. Piping hot with no detectable salt added. Best tartar sauce I've ever tasted.

They serve tartare sauce with their fish - a travesty! But the guy at the counter had a cockney accent so extra points for authenticity.

Nicky Perry’s popular fish-and-chips spot combines surprises such as deep-fried Cadbury creme eggs with more traditional fresh-from-the oven chicken and mushroom pies.

Good for New York standards but average if you come from a place where fish & chips is common. They don't have fresh lemons either.
