- EaterJanuary 11, 2012For red-sauce Italian, Bamonte's can't be beat. Order the veal scaloppine and the homemade manicotti. Three course meals range $28- $40; always call ahead to make a reservation. [Eater 38 Member]
- EaterJuly 18, 2017It may not be the best iteration of classic Italian food, but Bamonte’s has no comparison for the history, the soul, and warmth that pours out of the space.
- Mike FriedmanAugust 2, 2015Timeless Brooklyn red-sauce experience - Clams Cassino, Bamonte's Cold Antipasto, Rigatoni & Vodka Sauce, the list goes on... Bonus points for A+ people watching

- Village VoiceApril 9, 2015You'll likely enjoy dishes like stuffed artichokes and the "Pork Chop Bamonte." But make sure to enjoy a postprandial espresso-and-sambuca — it's the original Brooklyn combo.
- DoubleDeuceNovember 15, 2018Classic NYC Italian restaurant where everything is devoted to The Family. The wall decorations too. It's quite charming and the food and wine are great too.
- Jeremy MooreOctober 6, 2015It's easy to see how this place has been in business 115 years and counting. Signature service, great Italian home cooking, and reasonable prices. #winning
- Helena WongFebruary 22, 2015Mussels Marinara, Baked Clams and Pork Chops with Red & Hot Peppers. Their RED sauce is the bomb but the pasta dishes didn't do much for me, wish it was cooked al dente.
- BrooklynBoyOJanuary 17, 2015If you're a comic book nerd & fan of the new Batman/Bruce Wayne Origin story on Fox, #Gotham, you'll recognize this place as gangster Maroni's restaurant & lair...

- Michael G.July 11, 2019Pork chop parmesan was delicious. Overall, the food isn’t sensational. It’s more about the old school vibes. Good place to get a big table.
- Buford BarnesMay 29, 2012Established 1900. Original chandeliers to mid-century paneling to a modern glassed-in kitchen. Classic Italian immigrant appetizers and entrees, since before NY saw its first pizzerias.
- Samiha KhanJune 23, 2015Super old school Italian restaurant. Felt like I was on the set of a Sopranos episode. The homemade pasta dishes are really great.
- Sarah SpagnoloFebruary 7, 2015Kitche place with servers who have probably been there for 40 years. Reminds me of Sparks, in Midtown

- Frederic BonnFebruary 27, 2014The decor is typical old school Italian Brooklyn and you can see some fascinating characters straight out of the 50s. However, the food is pretty terrible.
- Have the Pork Chops with Hot vinegar peppers. Out of this world if you can take the heat.
