visiting SFO for the weekend and came across this place - it is an awesome neighborhood pub - everyone knew each other and were super friendly. good drinks, brilliant jukebox

The Uptown's always been a bit grungy, and the jukebox is no exception. There's also a good pinball machine, so any quarters you don't invest in tunes can go into silver ball futures. Read more

Scott Ellsworth, the owner, just died of heart failure. Favorite hang out of mine since he bought it in 1986. RIP, Scott: Thanks for all the good times!

Great (and cheap) beer, a jukebox, and couches! What can possibly go wrong? Oh yeah, everybody else loves this place too! Make sure you arrive early or you may not be able to get a couch.

When they're not visualizing the Twitterverse for MTV and Nike, the staff of Stamen (a 2011 Most Innovative Company) heads to this bar, which is known for its comfy couches.
