I always wanted to stay in this hotel and I don't regret spending the money. If you want the best price, book the room online few hours before your arrival as I did.

If you want to step back in time and experience faded glory, it's a great hotel. The lobby is amazing, all staff is still handling the old manners of hospitality, but the rooms are definitely outdated

One of the industry leaders since its opening, the Astoria is known for excellence in hospitality. Borne of an Astor family feud, the Astoria was the brainchild of WIlliam W. Astor and John J. Astor.
  • Landmarks Preservation Commission
Designed by Lloyd Morgan, the Art Deco building was completed in 1931 as a reincarnation of the original hotel erected by the Astor family in the 1890’s. It was designated a City landmark in 1993.

You have to love The Waldorf=Astoria for its style. Not that it is so fancy or so expensive (which it is), but it is relaxed, comfortable, charming and with all its facilities a home away from home.

The Waldorf Burger is the best from the room service menu. If you like garlic then the angel hair pasta. Oh and the fries are great too! Enjoy!

Sad to see it closed. It was one of NYC's historic landmarks. You don't need a star map at the Waldorf. If you've ever been here then you know that so many celebrities have passed thru this place. 🍷

The structure is beautiful but service is slow and full of rules. If you're only sleeping at the hotel, it is ok but if you need more of their service you may be disappointed.
