- If you want to order hot food, head to the back and pick up one of the laminated cards with the food you want. Then bring it to the register, pay, and head to the back again to pick up your food
- CREATETHE GROUPNovember 22, 2011I worked next door to this place for a couple of years, and ended up eating the salmon nori bento almost every day. It's still a go-to meal. The onigiri are great too. -Eddie
- Ramen is too soft for my taste but the bento box, curry, gyudon are all wonderfully flavorful and authentic for its price point. Hitachino beers are available. Before you leave, grab some mochis to go
- Amy ChenJune 3, 2015This place is amazing. I definitely need to go back to pick up green tea kitkats. I got chicken curry and they made it fresh. Great for lunch.
- Fabio FontebassoOctober 13, 2014Fantastic Japanese foods prepared to stay or to go! Katsu Don are great.. lots of typical Japanese stuff, nice idea for an alternative dinner!
- Asia LindsayNovember 10, 2014So many adorable little drinks! The fries are the best though. Possibly my favorite in NYC- so good. Some of the grocery stuff is a little overpriced but I still love this place.
- KurumiOctober 24, 2013My favorite Japanese supermarket! There's also one in midtown and east village. Always great quality. Their bentos and hot lunches are so yummy and I don't leave without buying Japanese snacks!!

- Best range of Japanese groceries and household goods on the Island! Everything from Natto to hair wax. Tasty and reasonably priced bento boxes too!
- Tonkatsu ramen and bento boxes. Nothing beats the taste and the prices! Go during lunch for the most selections. They also have Japanese groceries here, so it acts as a mini Asian supermarket! :D
- This is the SoHo location that's slightly calmer than the East Village location. It's great, and there's tables up front to eat food and snacks purchased.
- Take away a bento box, sushi tray, or pickled vegetable salad for lunch, but be sure to browse the snack aisle on your way out, if for no reason other than the allure of the wacky Japanese packaging.
- The lunch options are cheap and on point--sushi, onigiri, udon, everything.
- I came here for lunch often for Katsu dishes, noodles, and Japanese snacks. The food is very good and authentic
- Alyssa YeagerJune 4, 2011Wonderful, fully-stocked Japanese market! Whenever you find yourself in need of items like shiso leaves, S&B curry powder, Japanese snacks and cooking necessities, this is where you'll find them.
- The BombernautOctober 10, 2011What a wonderful place to snuggle it out. The upstairs is the prime spot. I suggest their ramen. Although, I wish they had tan tan ramen. It's great. Love it. Snuggled.

- John OutwaterFebruary 1, 2015The bento boxes are really good. I can't wait to try the udon next time I go. This place reminds me a lot of Japan.

- Bento boxes ftw. Get the one with salmon, noodles, Kara age, Hamburg, sausage, and yams. It's tasty
- Decent, affordably priced sushi. The fries are amazing. But their $10 credit card minimum is really annoying when your bill is $9.91 and they make you buy something else.
- Charlie SneathOctober 15, 2012Browse the candy section, buy something that you can't quite identity and then try it out. It will either be delicious or wonderfully strange.

- Constantino Diaz-DuranMarch 14, 2011The salmon wrap, which other people have recommended, is delish. It's also definitely big enough for two. My coworker and I usually share it, for a great, cheap lunch.
- They make a fantastic Tonkatsu Ramen that has a deliciously ginger-y broth. It’s also served in a quart container (so you will definitely be full after eating it).
- apasJune 28, 2012Didn't know they had a $10 min for paying with credit card. Now you know it. Bring cash. It's a great place for your sushi lunch take away.
