Escalators being down breaks my heart. Never enough places to sit even though there is more room for benches.
No restrooms in the station, but you can go to the mall. If that's closed, there's a Burger King above ground right next to the trolley terminal.
This is the station to get most easily to/from the Union Square located hotels from/to SFO or connecting Amtrak services to/from Richmond BART Station

Mr MaggioNovember 6, 2018All good except the people outside the station doing drugs and nothing else- Make sure you arrive right as your train pulls out so you enjoy this station for as long as possible!
- Often platform is packed to get on a train so try walking to embarcadero station to get on before the people in the financial stop all get on and crowd the trains during peak hours xx
- if the weather sucks you can enter Bart or muni via sf shopping center basement

Once you step in the train, either sit or stand. Don't think about what your going to do and hold up people going in or walking on the isle. So annoying. Thanks!
Len LovingJanuary 7, 2013THIS is where you must go FIRST of you've never been to San Francisco. All the crazies, riff raff, street "artists", and anyone else gathers. It sets the tone for a fun visit!
Save $1.75! Don't take the train if your destination is Embarcadero, Montgomery St. or Civic Center/UN Plaza. Those stations are a short walk away.

WalgreensJune 17, 2011Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer after using public transportation. Especially during flu season. There’s a way to stay well.
If you are heading to the East Bay, walk towards the west (5th Street) end of the platform to board a train. There are often seats towards the rear of the train after commute hours.
The strip at the top of the wall is orange so you can quickly know you're at Powell & not Montgomery which is purple.
Green Day's music video for "When I Come Around" was filmed here! Don't run your fingers along the walls like they did, its nasty.
Be mindful of the people on the escalators. Stay to the right if you aren't moving, there's probably an angry mob behind you, cursing and screaming for you to get outta the way.

The downtown CCSF campus is one block away at the corner of Mission and 4th. Get yourself to class.
You cannot add a monthly Adult Fast Pass onto your Clipper card. You have to go to a Muni Clipper machine.

When waiting in line for a train and a train you don't want to get on comes into the station please step away and let others get past you. Blocking the entrance to the train doors is just rude.
Grab free chocolate samples by gliding by Ghirardelli in the Westfield basement.
Can be used to go from one side of the street to the other (via underground) when there's a parade or if it's raining
if you're not going to walk up the escalator, stay on the right so you don't get trampled or hold anyone up.
