- If you twirl in front of the truck three times as you give your order and the taco trucks give you a thumbs up you'll for sure get extra beans on your burrito
- Elliot WehnerDecember 24, 2014Al pastor tacos are best in city. Hard to get fewer than 4. Get a burrito somewhere else though
- While their tacos are obviously good, I actually the like the burritos better here. Not as huge and dry as many in SF, definitely order with guacamole, hold the crema and cheese (too rich).
- Amazing tacos for really cheap. You can't go wrong with the carne asada tacos
- J JohnFebruary 7, 2019Easily one of the best taco trucks in the city. Great salsa and meat selection; absolutely great burritos
- Get the tacos & get a taste of multiple meats! They are small so mix n match. Don't be afraid of things like lengua and cabeza.
- 7x7 MagazineOctober 23, 2012Love their carne asada burrito for its serious street-food scrappiness. What this burrito lacks in girth it makes up for in grease and flavor. Read more
- Pam ☕️ OFebruary 9, 2017Substantial tacos loaded with meat. 😍 🌮First taco truck where credit card is the preferred method of payment!
- Jonathan GreenbergApril 17, 2010Best SF tacos, IMO. This one is the best of the 3 El Tonayense taco trucks on Harrison St. The second best is the one in front of Best Buy and I'd just avoid the third one up towards 24th.
- Slin LeeJanuary 19, 2014Cabeza and lengua are so tasty here. Give it a try if you haven't yet. Live a little!!
- Arguably the best tacos in the mission. If you see a white truck instead of the usual yellow truck, do not worry! Same taco truck, same great tacos - just a different truck in the fleet
- Deanna McDonaldMarch 3, 2016This place is just incredible every time. It's all good, but I love the tacos.
- Make it Paleo by thinking of your tortilla as simply a "plate."
- Rusty HodgeMarch 20, 2011Pollo Asado is awesome here, way better than the regular chicken. A mix of hot and mild sauce is delicious too!
- Their tacos are the BEST in the city for me. I normally have the Grilled Chix ones w/ Light Guac and their Salsa Roja... YUM!
- Travel ChannelNovember 30, 2010Yes, it’s on 4 wheels, and the dining room is nonexistent. But El Tonayense happens to be one of this city’s most revered Mexican food fixtures. – Samantha Brown
- The tacos are great, but if you're really hungry, the burritos are excellent also. I'd rate them my current favorite.
- Try a Super Burrito and go half and half carne asada and al pastor.
- Do some shopping at Best Buy then get a Burrito. Park in the Best Buy lot..
- Great Parking at Best Buy. Get your Tech Items and then a Burrito.
- Leave tip and make sure to check out how the cook has a Specialized Allez yellow sport bicycle in the truck.
- Great taco joint! These guys swear like Spanish sailors though! CHINGON!
- David SheridanApril 30, 2010far and away some of the best authentic mexican grub around. this is the real deal.
