Best chocolate chip cookies in DC. I found out that they sell their cookies to Chinatown Coffee and so when I finally came here I realize that they have the best French bakery around.

French-style patisserie/cafe with a small rustic courtyard, authentic pastries and bakery products, Brie oriented sandwich line up served on baguettes. Overall, delicious and charming

While all are worth a try, the croissant aux amandes, a croissant filled with a light almond paste and crusted with almonds, is particularly scrumptious. Read more

You get what you pay for--good espresso, luscious lemon tarts, Dammann Freres tea, madeleines, more. Authentic + delicious. I <3 the apple danish, too. Achtung: NO soy drinks here if you're lac-intol.

Dogs often hang out in the small, quiet courtyard accessible through tiny side alley or through back. Cafe tables, flowering plants, tranquility. Love. Closed on Mondays.

As long as you BYOW (bring your own wifi), a great spot to work remotely. Quiet, nice outdoor area, good coffee and munches.
