Consistent coffee quality, courteous staff, free Wi-Fi, and the availability of seats in this busy spot, lift the Astor Place Starbucks above average. The DJ, real or bot, isn't bad either.

- Ice coffee drinkers may not recognize Starbucks' signature Pike Place on the rocks. It's brewed with half the usual water, bringing a sharp bite.
Summer pro tip: half lemonade + half green tea. Unsweetened is key - just the right amount of sweet comes from the lemonade. Look at how refreshing this looks!- The enjoyable Starbucks caramel macchiato tastes more like a milk shake than a coffee. Ask for a 2nd shot of espresso, coffee lovers. (I did.)
Great, easy to find spot to meet up with friends before whatever you have planned in the area.- Multigrain bagels are a cut above others in Starbucks' "New York style" bagel selection. Equally as funny to eat in New York.
- The seating here is ideal for a meeting or catch-up among friends. Lots of windows. Plus, two bathrooms!

consistently good in terms of taste, but watch out! nontraditional orders are a hit or miss - some of your modifiers will occasionally get lost in translation.
If your early for an appointment and you need to kill a bit of time buy a latte and pumpkin cake, sit down with your tablet and do some research.
It's really quite irritating how they close most of the seating area at night when the place is packed. There's a lot of seating here but it still fills up. You'll have better luck finding a spot at 2nd Ave and 9th.- 2 notable collections of music via CD are for sale at Starbucks, "Psychedelic Soul" (various artists) and The Band (Opus Collection).

I only come here when I need coffee + nosh.- 3 take-home boxes/bags of VIA for the price of 2 can be had in June. Ask for the promo card and purchase sticker at the counter.

jeff ritterbandJuly 29, 2012Huge Starbucks and only one single bathroom? Buyer beware when purchasing a venti coffee! Always a line for the bathroom, plan accordingly- If newish coffee tastings weekdays 3:00-3:30 pm run dry early, baristas might make good. Today, one did. (Fine French Roast, dry cocoa notes).
- Price hikes of up to 10 cents on some coffee drinks reportedly due next week have not yet hit Pike Place. Tall's $1.85; short, $1.75.
- If you miss Tazo's China Green Tips tea, try Teavana's Emperor's Clouds & Mist. Flavor's similar, but milder.
- Glazed doughnut Starbucks style tastes more like sponge cake than the usual dessert with a hole in the middle.
Thomas WoodApril 22, 2013According to the Foodspotting app, the Chamomile Tea is the most popular item here... Somehow I doubt that.- This year's model of pumpkin spice latte is super sweet. Made with 2% milk + whipped cream, the calorie count in a 10 ounce cup is 300.
Caramel malchiato (or however you spell it) is the way to go if you don't like coffee but still need a pick me up
