Herald Square is a great place to sit, grab a cold water and take in the sights. We stopped in to Macy's-the largest department store in the world! Don't forget to stop in!

at night, look up at bennett monument: the eyes of two bronze owls at the top glow eerie green every second or so. "la nuit porte conseil." (the night brings counsel.)
Named for the long-defunct newspaper, the NY Herald, if you’ve been to Macy’s on 34th Street, you’ve probably passed through the square without even knowing. Lots of train connections in the area.
So close to everything! Subway, shopping (Macy's and so much more), Koreatown, etc. They have a great outdoors food court during the summer worth checking out.

Herald Square, named for the New York Herald newspaper, is managed by the 34th Street Partnership and features the elaborate Bennett Clock, exquisite gardens, tables and chairs, a food kiosk operated by Wafels & Dinges, and free public restrooms.
