Dupont Circle is a very lively part of the district. When I am getting off at this station, I know I am in for good food or drinks at one of the many great establishments within walking distance.

make sure you know what direction you are heading in advance before you leave the station. It makes a big difference in walking around the circle if you pick the right exit from the start.

Know which side of the train you want to get off on, otherwise you’ll spend an inordinate amount of time walking around the circle.

Take the time to read the quote around the entrance as you go up or down the long escalator

If any tip doesn't say "Stand to the right while riding the escalator," or "Don't eat while riding Metro," ignore it.

Don't stand one stair away from someone on the escalator unless you're family or dating. Otherwise, you're in my personal space, especially if you have the world's giantest bag!

This was a very fun spot. At the time, had some protesting but still very cliche and savvy location for food and sophistication. #ukrainesupport was heavy

On the DC Metro's Red Line. Has 2 entrances--north (Q St.) and south (19th St.). The south entrance has an incredibly long escalator, but you can read a great Walt Whitman quote along the way!

Escalators are kind of steep and long. Hand rail and escalator are not perfectly synced which is kind of trippy!

Hit the Dupont Farmers Market on Sundays, right by the entrance. The best place to get fresh peaches & the croissants are delish!

Make sure you know which exit you want. Most popular is the Q St north exit.

Exiting the station during rush hour is a gamble. Losing such a gamble means you get to have a pretty serious short-burst cardio work out
