- Grace KwanJuly 31, 2016My personal favorite place for egg tarts in NY. I always get the oval-shaped ones, which have a lovely crumbly cookie crust and aren't overly sweet. The mini egg tarts make a great gift too.
- Lydia VanWormerMarch 29, 2017Great ice cream cakes that are fun for a birthday celebration. Order the day before for flavors like coffee, mango, WASABI (!!), etc. Vanilla, chocolate, or red bean are available walk-in.
- CarrieMay 25, 2019The selection is really nice. The counter service was very helpful and polite. Everyone is right about the egg custards...very tasty with a lovely crust.
- John AJuly 9, 2015The queue here is not only a sign that the bakery is tasty, but it means high turnover of the products, with fresh soft yummy buns available. Recommend: sweet cream filled bun dusted with coconut.
- Serious EatsSeptember 23, 2013A great overall bakery, we especially like the Portuguese egg custard tart and the slices of plain roll cake.
- Jessica de OliveiraDecember 7, 2015Bring a Cantonese speaker or get out your fighting gloves, people mean business here. One of the few places I've found Portuguese style dan tat, which have a way better texture than regular egg tarts
- funky flavorOctober 13, 2016I love their individual rolls. They taste so good. Try all of them! The tuna one is my favorite.
- CarrieMay 26, 2019The custard pastries were very nice. Sesame ball was delicious. Got a nice box of assorted pastries for $15.
- This is the only bakery I’ve found that makes tuna fish buns (my favorite)
- BeeAugust 7, 2014if you're prepared to make dessert into a meal - head over here and try all their varieties of egg custard! - original, papaya, green tea - so many to try!
- Ziggy ChauFebruary 15, 2015Fresh authentic Chinese pastries and breads.Love their birthday cakes. Try the fresh mango cake especially in the summer when it's in season.
- Jeniver ZorrillaFebruary 20, 2013Their cakes are amazingly delicious! I can't read anything in the bakery so I call and order on the phone lol.
- Pick up tongs and a tray in the back and help yourself to the baked goodies. When you have everything you need, set the tray on the counter to get in line to pay or order stuff behind the counter.
- SilFebruary 4, 2012Their prices are higher than other bakeries but their "dan ta" is 2nd best compared to Manna House although the Portugese tan da is excellent but it comes with the extra calories!
- Serious EatsAugust 22, 2011A very light crust that's just a bit too crumbly for our tastes, but not bad. The filling has a natural pale looking color and tastes like what we are looking for: light, eggy, and not too sweet. Read more
- The Chinatown place to go for "don taht" egg custard tartlets. If nothing else, try the excellent Portuguese egg custards!
- Portuguese style custard tarts, papaya custard tarts, egg white custard tarts, elliptical custard tarts... get the idea? ;-)
- 陳雄暉 弟兄July 17, 2013the tray is very important. it represents your position on line. the ladies behind the counter will only acknowledge people with trays.
- Can't go wrong with all the bread and pastries available here!
- WinnieNovember 25, 2014Very busy. Their delicious tarts run out at around 6pm. Also try the mochi rice balls!
- Chris LDecember 28, 2014On a packed day, staff circulated and actually sought us out to see what we wanted - in English, too.
- Best egg custard tarts in the city, especially the Portuguese tarts.
- Mini mooncakes, little flakey chicken pies, all sorts of pork buns
- It's usually very busy...you have to be pushy and get the attention of one of the ladies to take your order. Pricier than other bakeries...it has a name.
- They have black sesame soymilk here. Egg tarts could be hit or miss.
- Hugo BossNovember 2, 2011Best breakfast noodles. And delicious baked goods. And amazing banana smoothies
- John P.February 2, 2011Bring someone who speaks Cantonese with you every time, takes 3x longer if you don't. Mandarin doesn't always cut it either.
