Awesome view. Fun by bike or by foot when the weather is good.
Walk on one side, bike on the other. Pedestrians stay out of the bike lane--there are a couple blind corners.
Easily the best graffiti of any of the bridges I've encountered in NYC, and by far the nicest bridge to walk along, given the lack of bikes and the relative lack of tourists. Tons of native NY'ers!

Great views, and safe space to walk, run, or bike! Come for the sunrise.
Running over it is difficult because of the incline at the beginning (Brooklyn side), but it's a very satisfying and scenic route.
Walking the bridge with great weather is very exhilarating.

Good walk or run routine spot. Clean and hopefully safe. Separate sides for walkers and bikers.
The pedestrian entrance is on the south side of the bridge on Bedford Ave. There. Now, if you decide to walk across the bridge in the bike lane, you'll know why you're being screamed and cussed at.

BommyOctober 4, 2015Confusing to find the walkway but it's near bedford and s 5th st. Quick and easy walk; perfect on a nice day.
Well, there are 2 2-lane roads going and returning. Of, course, there is enough room to travel within the lanes, but some people drive across like it's a 1-lane road making it impossible to pass.- Beautiful views of the city and so fun to ride a bike over. Also just a vision on its own. Cheers to the engineer.

Uber NYCOctober 11, 2013Senior Community Manager Ed crosses this bridge daily on his bike, but also loves to pause and take in the street art and occasional sunset whenever possible.
It gets easier the second half, regardless of running, walking or biking. Haha.

ChunkyMarch 19, 2014Right pedestrian lane is for cyclers, if you walk there they could be sometimes bit crazy. The left is for pedestrians only.- great walking bridge connecting two cultural hubs - the lower east side and bedford 'hipster' avenue.
It's a bridge. It goes over the East River. It has bike and pedestrian lanes.
Running path under bridge on the Manhattan side is nice, especially on Saturdays when the hotties come out. Great view from the bridge!! The walk is not short and if the wind is big it is cold!!!
The view is a great way to start each mornings. Reminds me how fortunate I am to live in the greatest city on earth.
