- Food is sooo bomb, they r closing mid January 2014 this place something out if the 1950's worth the wait and the $$$ Ravioli and spaghetti is on point!
- JessicaAugust 15, 2011My Dad used to work here in the 80's(when the suits the waitstaff wore were gold...win).Great Italian place.Authentically Awesome.Garlic Bread,Cheeseburger, and Veal Piccata are must haves.
- The Hamburger Steak is AMAZING!!!! I've not seen a Bigger hamburger anywhere & they make it EXACTLY the way you ask for it. No Excuses. Simply EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!
- Timothy T.July 14, 2013I've been coming here for years. The quality of meat used for their roast beef is amazing! My favorite is the sourdough bread they give away though.
- The Cascade Room is for punks, don't get seated there. If there's a wait and you have a party of 2, ask for a counter and get seated fast. Plus you get to watch the food prep which is impressive!
- Mike NadelmanApril 2, 2012Cheap drinks and great lamb chops. Be demanding and sit at the counter in front of the grill. They will make anything you want from any menu they have.
- If you are feeling chilled this "Summer" in SF, sit at the counter in front of their wood-fired grill, it's like sitting in front of a huge fireplace, and you can watch the masters at work.
- SFGate ManagerJuly 16, 2012The Daly City landmark is still as busy as ever (all locals, by the way), and for a place with more than 300 seats, that's saying something.
- This old school joint will close its doors 1/26/14. Where will the old timers go now (workers and customers)? Get your steak a la Bruno while you can
- Alan BerezinJanuary 27, 2014Sadly, Joes has closed after 57 years. KGO is reporting that Original Joes owner bought the place and will reopen after extensive remodel.
- ᴡ RodgersJanuary 26, 2011Kim's coffees are the bomb..tell her the giants fans sent you..she makes a mean martini too! then go eat. Yum.
- Elaine ChuSeptember 6, 2013Classic sf favorite. Always good with big portions. I hope this place never changes.
- can't ever go wrong with veal parmigiana & a side of ravioli. it's deelish!
- Try the rice pudding for dessert...It's just like home!
- petegFebruary 16, 2010$3 Manhattans at the bar! The bar has a fire place and a bar on the piano, making it a piano-bar.
- Very charming old school vibe (especially in the piano bar lounge) but the food is incredibly bland. Avoid the Cascade Room at all costs.
- My favorites are the Cheeseburger, the Sunday Special and Minestrone Soup.
- Rick A.November 8, 2011Not sure why people rave about this place. There's usually a long wait, food's totally bland, &--worst of all--customer service is atrocious--especially the waiters, who tend to be older and cranky.
- amazing food! try a hamburger steak with swiss cheese...
- Discuss: The lounge band is called Hutch King Duo but they have 3 guys.
- Jeff KJanuary 28, 2014Restaurant is closed as of last weekend. New restaurant will take over in 2015.
- Julia LundmanJune 5, 2010This place is A time warp and generous with the drinks. They clearly want the patrons to get tanked.
- Avoid the salads - they taste of chemicals. Pastas are good in an old-school way.
- Get a mixed drink, "up". It's served in a mini shaker. Like 2 for 1.
