- Eug KNovember 5, 2017Great values, BYOB, and great food and staff. Gets super busy so don’t be surprised if you have to put your name down and wait at the bar across the street awaiting Poke to give your phone a ring.
- Inexpensive, excellent sushi + BYOB. Grab wine at Yorkshire Wine on 1st b/w 85th & 86th St, and cash at the ATM across the street at Ryan's Daughter. Cash only.
- Heather PGFebruary 2, 2013Amazing, get the truffle roll, dynamite, and spicy spider rolls. BYOB, put your name in and wait across the street at Ryan's Daughter, they'll even chill your wine while you wait. Poke will call you
- Ashley ChanJune 19, 2017Fun, lowkey place that would be good for a casual date or big groups. This place is BYOB with delicious rolls that are decently priced. Could get noisy & packed, so try to come early or on a weekday.
- Obsessed with the spicy miso soup. I love it so much I usually order 2! And their sushi rolls are all delicious and fresh tasting. Plus it's byob so it's not an expensive dinner!
- Lane RettigAugust 28, 2016Overrated and overpriced. The sushi is good but portions are small, the appetizers uninspiring. Full of loud drunk white people, if that's your thing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- The best sushi place in the UES! My favorite rolls here:Manhattan Roll, spicy tuna roll, poke roll and spicy scallop roll! Give it a try :)
- Tatiana HirsuSeptember 3, 2018Fresh and very tasty, but the rolls are getting smaller and smaller, and the prices are going up
- Ali M.November 13, 2015The food at Poke is excellent! Try the gyoza and save room for the specialty rolls - they're delicious! FYI, Poke is cash only.
- Abbie StevensonJanuary 5, 2013Red Dragon roll = amazing. This place was packed on Thursday and sushi place are a dime a dozen, so that says a lot in Manhatten. Great service, great food
- Consistently great sushi, friendly service, and the perk of BYOB. It does get crowded and loud so try to get there on the early side.
- Jordan KrumDecember 15, 2013Sushi quality was unbelievable and the owner (BJ) is the man. Order The Bomb and I promise you will not regret. A true UES gem.
- Terecille Basa-OngNovember 12, 2016Apparently there's an $18 per person minimum, though it's not mentioned in the menu or posted anywhere around the restaurant. Double-check with them what you order as you may get something else!
- Mar SalApril 22, 2013My favorite sushi in NYC. Everything I've tried has been perfect. One of the greatest things about this place is that is BYOB.
- Nicolette St.LawrenceMarch 22, 2016Outsource decision making and go for the chef's selection of sushi. Compliment with a high acidity wine of your choosing BYOB.
- Amazing Sushi. Friendly staff. Byob (liquor store next door with great sake). Cash only. Oh and it's pronounced Pohkay.
- Paige CMay 28, 2017It's BYOB & cash only! Sushi is delicious but the staff could be nicer. Very crowded but worth it.
- Don't screw it up: Cash only, BYOB, and DO get the tempura ice cream.
- Xian XianJuly 24, 2011Tasty fresh sushi. Truffle roll! Cash only, $18 min pp. No sep checks! Rigid BYOB rules (something like: 1 wine bottle per 2 ppl- A 6-pack counts as 1 wine bottle- No magnum or liquor bottles)
- YaniqueAugust 28, 2014The sushi is always fresh! It's as though the fish has just been taken from the ocean and placed directly on your plate!
- Ale TowerMarch 18, 2017Good quality sushi and BYOB. I wouldn't recommend the spicy tuna rolls (too much spicy paste for my liking, but the rest was good).
- Jason H.July 8, 2016Good Upper East sushi. A little overrated on Foursquare. Good basic sushi. No need to do omakase here. Just stick to the basics, which are good.
- Lance LacoffFebruary 8, 2014Great BYOB - tasty special rolls especially the truffle rolls. Fair prices - cash only.
- Tuna bomb and scallop sushi are some of my favs. Cash only and BYOB
- Michael MureFebruary 10, 2013The truffle roll was incredible. One of the most unique and memorable rolls I've ever had.
- Terecille Basa-OngNovember 12, 2016Food was delicious but service was rude/terrible/a mess. No mention anywhere of the $18 per person minimum - and we were not the only table confused by this. Got some of our order wrong & others' too.
- If you've got cash, they'll deliver to you. Good in desperate situations but more fun to eat in - especially on Valentina's day.
- Yorkshire Wines & SpiritsMarch 5, 2013BYO you say? Grab a crisp Chardonnay (we're just down the block across 1st Ave) to go with that Himachi. Yum :)
- Nina LoSchiavoMay 31, 2013Don't be fooled by the BYOB, the sushi at this place leaves much to be desired. Portion sizes are small, non-existent flavor in their spicy maki, and to boot it's cash only!
- Desi S.December 27, 2012Get the seared spicy scallop roll. It is the most delicious thing in the world.

- The Corcoran GroupMay 21, 2010Some of the freshest sushi on the Upper East Side, and it's BYOB as well.
- The Ninja and Dynamite rolls are great here. Kani Kama is pretty good too.
- Small and noisy, but has my absolute favorite spicy scallop roll!
