Pepijn MoogoojinnaOctober 15, 2016Really popular place for locals, mostly too crowded for me. One of the best outdoor seatings in Amsterdam. The waiting time for your order or receipt is to long. The drinks got a bit overpriced.
Good Belgian vibe at this place. Try local home beer on tap Hesp blond but also look at tap list or fridge with good selection of bottles in other room behind a bar.
Great beer selection and nice food - terrace is great at the Amstel and always nice atmosphere with a well mixed crowd

The outdoor seating is awesome, if not a bit too crowded. Enjoy a white beer in the sunshine, by the river Amstel.

great place to sit outside and drink german beers. food not very good, but view and sunset should make up for it
I suggest you try their Hesp Blond on a warm summer-night.

Katie WilliamsJune 18, 2015Do NOT order the burgers. The meat is supposedly Black Angus, but it's full of fillers. Worse than McDonalds.
Don't order Tortila chips: cold, no cheese, guacamole is terrible.
Fingerfood (saté, inktvisringen en spareribs) bij een lekker speciaal biertje is een aanrader!

Hesp is een typisch Amsterdams oud bruin café in de originele inrichting gesitueerd in een typisch 19e eeuws pand direct aan de Amstel tussen de Magere Brug en de Berlagebrug. Het restaurant heeft een prachtig uitzicht over de Amstel. Elke zondagmiddag is er live muziek.
