what a hidden gem! 4 healthily-portioned tacos for $12 (you can just get 2 for $6 as well but that's no fun); the papas y rajas are something you don't see often and pack and unexpected kick

This hole-in-the-wall taqueria might be serving some of the best Mexican food in NYC! Get three tacos – filled with carnitas, beef belly and chorizo - for less than $10! Beer is super cheap too!

Awesome Mexican food! It's all bar seating but people leave quickly so grab a seat if you can and get the tacos with spicy pork or chicken.

This used to be a Mexican grocery store with a taco shop at the back. It has been refitted and now famous for its tacos. The spicy pork and beef tongue tacos are my favourites.

Really love this place! Try their selection of tacos, and don't forget to put some green sauce and lime on them. One of the best spots for authentic Mexican cuisine in New York!

The tacos are the quick fix, but if you're feeling frisky, the burritos are just as delicious (although a bit messy)!

A well-stocked Mexican market with a small food counter in the back. Tacos are done well, but tortas are king. Open late.

This place has amazing tacos but do not overlook the tortas they are out of this world and more filling than 2 tacos which would be equal to the price

Al Pastor and Carne Enchilada tacos were good but I'm guessing the real draw are some of the more, ahem, exotic options

Their tacos are served hot and are so yummy with their soft tortillas. Hot sauce is also recommended.

You want to try the sauces made by the restaurant, don't use the branded ones on the stands. The house sauces are to the left of the counter.

The torta de pollo is a sizable lunch for just $6--there's a little bit of creaminess in the background that blends well with the flavorful shredded chicken.

Make sure you pick up some of their fantastic hot sauce on the way out. I recommend the El Yucateco Chipotle or the El Yucateco XXX Hot Sauce if you like it super hot with loads of flavor.
