City of New YorkAugust 23, 2013The Pulaski Bridge, over Newtown Creek and the Long Island Expressway, is orientated north-south and connects Greenpoint in Brooklyn to Long Island City in Queens.

Best place for Manhattanhenge; stop by on May 31 or July 11 to see the sun set directly behind Manhattan's streets. You can get a photo here of the sun framed by the Chrysler & Empire State Buildings.

Put a quarter in the slot and you can operate the controls that raise and lower the drawbridge!

Take this bridge to Sweetleaf, the corner coffeeshop that serves revoluntionary Stumptown coffee!
One of those rare NYC views that doesn't come ripped from a postcard.
Kathy CastilloMay 13, 2014The city allows construction, jackhammering, chainsawing at all hours of the night on the Pulaski Bridge. I want to murder whoever authorized the use of chainsaws & jackhammers between 11pm & 2am.
Great exercise if you're not lazy or don't feel like waiting for the B62 bus.

The Pulaski Bridge, opened to traffic in 1954, is a double leaf, trunnion type bascule bridge. It is the best way to get between Long Island City and Greenpoint.
