According to the MTA, this is the tallest subway station in the world. Not sure I believe that - but it's definitely 87.5 feet tall with 138 steps. Always a treat when the escalators break.

The best view in Brooklyn. I'd come here even if you weren't riding a train. I believe it's the highest point on the MTA system.

Great view when you come out from the underground portion of the train. Very thankful for the escalators at this station.

outdoor stop on the F/G has cell service, so it's a good station to transfer if you need to wait for the other train

Get off at this station if your going to IKEA in Red Hook, there's a shuttle and the B61 or B57 Buses that takes you there from the station.

Great views of NYC out the right of a Manhattan bd train between 4th Ave & Smith/9th. See the Statue of Liberty out the right of a Coney Island bd train as it approaches Smith/9th.

Remember that scene in Goodfellas, where Karen was afraid to go into the building? It was filmed right under this bridge! ;-)

The highest point in the entire MTA subway system - built because nobody wanted to risk tunneling below the Gowanus Canal.
