Tamales are delicious and sizable. Multiple (tasty) vegetarian options. If you eat in the restaurant, they bring you homemade tortilla chips and salsa, which both hit the spot. I'l definitely be back.

Unstoppably delicious Mission classic. The plantain empanadas, the pozole, the burritos, the fajitas, and of course, the tamales. Long may it reign.

So happy to have stumbled upon this gem on Friday evening. No wait, cozy casual atmosphere with great food, especially for the price. Loved the live music, too!

Friday nights: Go to a Diana Gameros live concert here (similar to Feist), good food, veg friendly, affordable. It's a pretty awesome reminder why SF is magic.

I used to go here as a kid because my mom was friends with the owner. It used to be an original style Mexican restaurant. Now it looks gringo-ized. Welcome to the sad reality of the new San Francisco.

Tamales were ok but expensive. Not enough flavour. Other tamales in the area are much better.

They just changed owners (late 2012) and are now "The Roosevelt"-- the menu is way slimmed down and the decor de-cozified. Historic photos are gone.
