Best Japanese supermarket in the hood. Tons of products. Kewpie mayo, furikake, bonito flakes, matcha powder, miso and wakame are must pick ups for me. They have sliced meats too for shabu shabu!

Walk down the aisles filled with ramen, soba, rice crackers and countless varieties of miso, and arrive at the prepared foods section, where you'll find gigantic bento boxes, all for about $5. Read more

Fresh sushi grade fish. Good selection of Asian produce. Take-to-go bento boxes, and my favorite: the selection of cute rice and soup bowls in the back that are super cheap!

Come here for anything Japanese you can't find elsewhere. I was looking for quality matcha and found more than I could've imagined, along now with the hidden tea set and tools section in the back.

When you don't want to go Japanese grocery shopping on an empty stomach, hit up Panya next door. Sure, there's a lot of the same stuff upstairs, but you'll feel better eating it in the cafe beforehand

A great little Asian market only an elevator ride away. You can call ahead or sign up for emails letting you know when green tea kit kats will be available!

Great Japanese supermarket accessed by a stealthy but slow elevator from the 80s. Great selection of everything, including mochi. Mmm, mochi.

One of the few Japanese supermarkets in town, but beware the prices. Staples such as rice and garlic are much cheaper at places like Trader Joe's

A lot of interesting Japanese goods packed into a small space. Affordable bento boxes, strange and colorful sweets, ume plums, weird jelly cups, etc. Design enthusiasts will freak at the packaging.

Bento boxes are a steal. Choose something from the candy aisle for dessert and a drink from one of the cases. All under $10.
