Look for 1360 Montgomery Street, home to Lauren Bacall in the movie Dark Passage. Gold Rush-era homes line the nearby pedestrian streets. - Green Guide Editor

Gardens lining mostly wooden steps. Don't trip - but don't forget to look up for spectacular views and don't be afraid to say hello to the residents of Telegraph Hill.

The first flight of concrete stairs is the scariest, it gets much better/more scenic after that. Hike all the way to Coit Tower!

Cool series of staircases behind old houses. If you're lucky you'll see the resident parrots.
