- The Corcoran GroupJanuary 27, 2012Another badly kept NYC secret - stay on the 6 train as it turns around and you’ll be able to sneak a peak at the oldest subway station in NYC. Or exit the station and walk the Bridge.
- When traveling from union square to Brooklyn bridge the 4-5 are faster than the 6. Don't be fooled by the luxury of a seat on the 6 it will take 2x as long, if you're in a rush.

- The Chambers Street J/Z platform under the municipal building is historic in that it once stood as the BMTs south terminal. LIRR excursion trains also departed from this station via the Broadway BMT.
- On weekends, the J service terminates here, and no trains continue south to Broad St. For service to Broad St, take the 4/5 to Wall St.
- AT&T cellular reception may be found near the Municipal Building/Court House/Brooklyn Bridge exit, near the 4/5/6 platform.
