- Caner GözJune 9, 2013There is a metro station in front of the church. You don't have to climb the stairs if you are not capable. It's worth to look at the streets on the fist balcony.Upvoted Jan 18
- Janet CheungSeptember 2, 2014They are steps and they are in movies. It can get loud here with Spanish chanting and people being patriotic. Go super late at night when empty for better viewUpvoted 2 weeks ago
- Sidira KuriaJanuary 20, 2019First thing visited in Rome. Great for photos, when it's not raining, you can sit for a while & enjoy a delicious tiramisu from nearby pompi. On the top, there is a also church.Definately a must see!
- Nastasiya O.October 30, 2018The best thing you can do here ..is to go to the rooftop bar and enjoy the Spanish Steps views drinking a glass of wine. Comfortable, nobody will put his selfie stick before your face here😂

- Bella LaJuly 7, 2019Crowded placebos the heart of rome. Nice flair, view above the city - perfect at sunset! Beware of rose seller, annoying.
- Manu SmithAugust 19, 2016Was closed due to maintenance however nice view from the top amazing buildings and atmosphere
- L¡vJuly 20, 2019Spanish steps had a great atmosphere and environment. Try to not run down the steps they are very slippery. Next to there is a great gelato place that is worth having. Expensive but great💕🍦
- hussein sOctober 6, 2018Long staircase linking the Trinity Mountains and the Piazza di Spagna. Typical construction representing the Roman monumentality of the eighteenth century! We keep fit by mounting them!
- Michelle D.February 28, 2020If you don’t want to walk back up, you don’t have to. Take the elevator in the Metro station to the left of the steps all the way up.
- Nigel HarperApril 23, 2017I wondered why we were going to see some steps! Quite amazing though, and worth a visit. Photo is from the bottom and from the top
- KonstantinaMay 20, 2017Too many people... So many you cannot actually see the steps. The church on the top of the hill is quite impressive so is the view from up there. Getting down to the square you reach a shopping area.
- Fluying ✅September 7, 2018At the foot of the steps there is a fountain built by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and uses Acqua Vergine aqueduct, as the water pressure here is low, Bernini designed the fountain to be a sinking boat.
- JB BuenoMay 15, 2023If planning to go here, best to early morning, just like in any other tourist spots in the city. People start to flock in the area from 8:00am, onwards, until the evening.
- Russell HarrisonFebruary 10, 2017Day or night there is always something going on - this evening a young lady burst into song and entranced everyone for 10 minutes and then just disappeared into the crowd.
- Jonathan NganduMay 1, 2019was nice! very good views. Just too many people trying to sell you stuff. Let me enjoy the view!
- Benjamin 🚀September 26, 2015A must on any tour of Rome! Don't expect too much to do or buy but it's certainly worth a visit to say, "hey, I was there!" 😄🇮🇹
- Weronika HollevikJune 14, 2018Very croweded during the day. But its a place you must see. And the streets around the monument are beautiful.
- Tanis CoolbaughMay 26, 2014Not much to see or do here. Still a great place to visit If you're in Rome. Just to say that you've you've been there. It's the widest staircase in Europe.
- AlexOctober 11, 2017Always overcrowded. Sacre Coeur steps in Paris are more worth it. Coming from me, hating Paris, loving Rome.
- Cheen The CuriousMay 17, 2022Called “Spanish Steps” cos the Spanish embassy was located at the base of the stairs in the 17th century. Official name is “Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti”. Source: romesite.com, Wikipedia
- Kapt’n KokoMay 7, 2018If you don’t grab a gelato and sit on the steps like Audrey Hepburn, you’re doing it wrong.
- Stephanie DallNovember 7, 2014Spanish steps! Great view! Watch out for the street sellers. Very pushy!
- Rene T.September 27, 2019I don't know why these stairs are so popular, in any case, one is right here if one wants to see many tourists bunched together.
- spent my birthday in the mid night in Spanish stairs. Quiet beautiful and memorable
- Evren YigitSeptember 1, 2016A very crowded historical place, it is very hard to take foto and selfies. Go at down.
- Two Boots and a FarwaJanuary 28, 2018We don’t understand the appeal of sitting on the things but it’s a good place to use as a starting point to walk around.
- Zineta EminiNovember 9, 2016Popular place, you know, from the movies. It's nice for chillin' and has a nice view from top.
- TristanAugust 13, 2011the famous "spanish steps"...this is the place you go for the scenic views of the tourists shopping on Via Condotti. Pretty fun hangout spot.
- RomaMarch 24, 2012he monumental stairway of 138 steps was built with French diplomat Étienne Gueffier’s bequeathed funds of 20000 scudi in 1723–1725, linking the Bourbon Spanish Embassy and the Trinità dei Monti church
- Ziad NaboulsiJanuary 4, 2019Come in the morning, walk all the way up and go into the Villa Bouguise park!

- Milli ParkusAugust 12, 2016All tourist have to go here, just to be on top of the steps and see people everywhere!
- MelanieAugust 9, 2012Go at about 7:30 am if you want to see this historic site without hundreds of tourists.
- A classic Roman hang-out spot. But the street traders are a menace.
- Vova NovaqueJanuary 14, 2016Too crowded to come during the day, but in the evening a very romantic place to spent some hours.
- KateNovember 17, 2023Not so crowded in the morning (before 9am). But if you come later in the day, it’s not worth it
