Amazing Art Deco interiors and lovely peaceful gardens - great for our picnic-but there was nothing in the rose garden. A very minor complaint after a wonderful visit. Look out for the lemur ladder!

This stunning art deco house was built in 1936. The 19-acre garden really comes into its own during summer, when the long border transforms into a riot of herbaceous perennials. Read more

19 August: Admire the grand panelled Swedish Entrance Hall, with concrete and glass dome and the bedroom of the Courtaulds' pet ring-tailed lemur, Mah-Jongg. Art Deco features contrast with Tudor.

£15 each entry fee is a rip off. Kenwood house in Hampstead is just as nice and is free

London's best stately home. You get a mix of Medieval, Tudor and Art Deco. And look out for the giant fish in the moat.

This glamorous Art Deco London showpiece as built in 1936, next to the remains of a medieval royal palace, and surrounded by 19 acres of garden. A striking visit!

Gorgeous 1930's Art Deco home bolted on to the remains of a Plantagenet / Tudor palace with stunning garden (and big fish in a moat kinda thingy)
