    The ornamental cork oak tree on the north side of the lake - directly south of the mansion - was planted some 250 years ago, and is one of the Great Trees of London.

    28 August: Probably London's best preserved country estate, Osterley Park consists of a large manor house in 357 acres of parkland and gardens.

    A manor house was built here by Sir Thomas Gresham, a Tudor banker who entertained Queen Elizabeth on at least two occasions. In 1940 the grounds were used for training the Home Guard.

    Good place to get onto the Tube into London. Gets crowded and sometimes cases stick out and take up room. Can usually find a parking space but be warned, they are tight spaces.....
