- Chris EvansNovember 11, 2016Great venue, floor is slanted which makes the view much better, although after standing for 3 hours it can hurt your back standing on a slope!
- Ali BDecember 22, 2015Weird indoor castle thing going on - love it. Fantastic historical venue and pleasant staff.
- Louise MahonSeptember 1, 2017Amazing helpful staff. Went out of their way to identify my needs and make my visit there enjoyable - without even been asked. Thank you so much
- Sofia PieMarch 14, 2014Best music venue in London. Intimate but spectacular. You can find out more about it by reading simon parkes' 'live at the Brixton academy' - great book!
- Bjørn FjölnissonJanuary 26, 2019Fantastic venue. Great acoustics. If you can get standing tickets, go for them.
- Stephen SilverlockOctober 18, 2014Don't worry too much if there's a long queue outside, it's quite easy to get near the front once inside (without pushing). Toilets and bar easily accessible too.
- Patrick SalviApril 4, 2016Great venue with visibility from everywhere thanks to the slopping floor. They take credit cards at the bar.Good acoustic.
- Giacomo MasonNovember 12, 2016Possibly my fave venue in London. Just the right size, and the sloping floor means you can ser even from the back!
- Rachel O'ReillyMay 9, 2015Fantastic venue. Once you're in you can't go out and back in again though so make sure you have everything you need before you go in!
- The best music venue in London, hands down. Amazing gigs, always.
- PJ WascherMarch 3, 2015Saw The War On Drugs here. Cool venue. If you want to sit, buy a balcony ticket. Standing only on the main floor.
- The best venue for rock / alternative concerts in London. Great atmosphere and sound.
- No4emi GVOctober 20, 2017I couldn’t get a ticket for the ground floor but still got a good view from the balcony. Great place 👌🏼
- Colm LinehanOctober 30, 2018The front few rows of the balcony don't have a great view. Better to be further back to see the whole stage.
- Belén MartínezApril 30, 2012Don't go to the Circle area, they won´t let you stand up even for a second to dance and enjoy the gig. Always go for the stalls tickets if u wanna have real fun.
- Time Out LondonMarch 28, 2012The Academy’s famous raked dancefloor splits opinion – it allows the petit(e) attendee to see something of wht’s happening on stage, which is good, but isn’t exactly ideal if you fancy a boogie. Read more
- Jack HoppusAugust 8, 2014The stage is great; and a great experience. The black roof gives the impression that you are outside.
- PunktasticAugust 15, 2012A huge theatre venue, Brixton's sloping floor gives you a fine view of any of the bands playing there, and there's usually 2/3 great shows per month for Rock lovers.
- Christine LutonNovember 7, 2016Great for music events. Went to the 2016 Top100DJs party here and really enjoyed the venue.
- Andrew woodNovember 30, 2014Decent venue. Bars are quick, and the floor slopes for a good view from wherever. Acoustics aren't as good as Shepherd's Bush.
- Ross GroomDecember 3, 2016Bug venue, good for gigs and nights out alike. Sloped floor towards the stage helps.
- One of the biggest theatre venues in London and they sell beer. This is important when you're watching heavy metal. The sloping floor means there’s a good view from anywhere downstairs. Read more
- Phoebe JohnsonFebruary 27, 2018Great venue can be a bit annoying to get to woman’s toilet at next to front of stage.
- Mat CollisFebruary 25, 2015First time mixing here for the NME awards. So much history here. Such a cool venue
- Mark MakinMarch 5, 2016Had a great time watching massive attack - just wish they'd sort he queues out for drinks and stock some decent drinks. Terrible range of spirits and awful beer.
- Dayna McAlpineOctober 27, 2015The floor going down at a huge slant means no getting angry at the tall person in front of you!
- Gari WellinghamJune 25, 2010Awesome venue once inside, completely not what I was expecting. Definitely avoid buying tickets from touts - get there early if you're in the G/A Circle too.
- Haylie SeymourNovember 30, 2013Great venue but don't bother queuing for drinks absolute nightmare and overpriced but still a lovely venue.
- Breakin' ConventionJanuary 11, 2012Catch the UK B-Boy Championships World Finals here in October and find out which crew, soloist, popper and lockers will reign supreme as World Champion!
- Giorgi MerebashviliNovember 7, 2014Aaaaaaa, uuuuuu, had a chance to be there on the knife concert, the drinks are fairly priced but the safety personnel are super rude
- Sloping floor is top notch, and it's all about heading down the sides! Also love the disneyesque theming!
- Bryan KamDecember 9, 2010The standing area is vast and at the back you can hardly see the stage, so unless you arrive early or fancy fighting your way up front the seats are probably better.
- If you're in the queue, look out for 3-4 people casually hanging out on the other side of the alley. They couldn't more obviously be undercover police if they tried.
- UgniusJune 11, 2015Through all my life as a dj and music fan, o2 gets the award of the worst sound quality I've ever heard and I've had my fair share of shows all around the globe.
- Little ScrapesMay 15, 2017Nowhere near enough bar staff to serve the thirsty hoards. Bar service so slow the venue may as well be dry. Preload, or being a hip flask.
