It can get very hot below ground at this station, stay upstairs until the train comes.

The 2nd to last staircase off the South end, uptown side, is the least crowded in the whole station.

The south side now has signs that will let you know exactly when the next train will arrive and which type it is. Very helpful!

Entrance / exit is in the middle of the street, so you'll have to cross a street any way you go

Stand at the front of the uptown train to get to 73rd Street, e.g., from Times Square. However, it will be very crowded there.

The elevator works - though the "aroma" can be a challenge - useful if you have luggage.

Would be a lot nicer sitting here if the whole place didn't smell like an ashtray. I mean who really smokes anymore?
