- Still one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in town. Slow cooked belly pork is a must. The Banh-Cuon is great to start as well.
- Great food. Their Pho is amazing but I've never had the same thing twice here and it has always been fantastic. The photo is the Royal Chicken.
- chicken royal with coconut rice and a couple of saigon beer. in the end, a funny chopped lovely orange as a little treat. cheap and good, probably the main reasons for getting busy basically everyday!
- The Times and Sunday TimesOctober 1, 2014Unprepossessing café-type place full of locals who tread the fine fashion line between Hipster and Crusty. But the cooking here is outstanding. Nobody in London is better at frying. Read more
- Eleonora CarisiMarch 19, 2015They change the menu so no more Chicken Royal & satai chicken! It's very sad but still very good : try the noodle soup 🍲
- Cynthia WeiAugust 8, 2010My favourite Vietnamese restaurant in London so far - been flank noodle soup, pancake with chicken and prawns, monk fish satay starter and pork steam rolls are some of the firm favourites.
- Mike DaviesSeptember 11, 2013Great and inexpensive Vietnamese place. Vegetable spring rolls delicious. Good choice of beer too.
- Mike DaviesSeptember 29, 2013Gloriously tasty Vietnamese food at ridiculously low prices. Difficult to get to but worth leaving the city for.
- Joe TNovember 4, 2013Try the lot leaf pork....this place is one of the best Vietnamese places in hackney.
- Arnau BronsomsAugust 25, 2015Clearly the best Vietnamese in the area. Authentic and full all the time
- Charlie GordonFebruary 16, 2013Great food, especially at the price - the clay pot pork belly is a standout dish.
- Aubergine and tofu in a black bean sauce and the flat noodles both good options for those on a vegan diet.
- AlistairMarch 30, 2013Great food, but watch out, if they don't like you there's no orange half with the bill!
- Sebastian RydbergJune 25, 2017Rare beef pho quite bland (esp for the price). Better equivalents in the area!
- Must be the best Vietnamese Restaurant around Mare Street! Food is lovely.
- Polly WnzAugust 27, 2014Stacks up well against Kingsland road competition. Hassle free walk-ins on Saturday nights, too.
- YJ HanMay 25, 2014I couldn't feel the same as other good tips here. The summer rolls were the worst one I've ever had. Char-grilled pork/spring roll rice noodle was not very impressive either. I wouldn't visit again.
- Try the Crispy Vietnamese Pancake With Prawns - The deliciousness lies inside.
- Steph WDecember 28, 2013They don't have anything that's gluten free. Apparently they put wheat in the wok!? So if you are allergic to gluten. There's no food for you here.
- James GlazebrookMarch 30, 2010Try: the soft-shelled crab, anything with goat and anything sizzling; and share starters between two- they're massive!
- Steve DowneMay 20, 2012By the way they moved to bigger place a few doors away at 247 to 249 Mare Street
- naranjaimparMarch 18, 2017The food is good but I found it expensive, the Thai on the side is tasty and cheap! ;)
