- M MFebruary 7, 2016Everything is good! Tocino (sugar-achuete cured pork) with garlic fried rice & fried eggs is great. The fried pork belly is decadent and delicious, but only get it to share.

- Time Out New YorkOctober 5, 2011Try the Ukoy for brunch. Shrimp, sprouts and leeks, plus snow peas and napa cabbage, are stuffed into a banana leaf and plunged into the hot oil. It’s one of our #100best dishes and drinks of 2011. Read more
- JKAugust 15, 2021Try Chicken adobo-braised in rice vinegar, soy sauce, garlic and Thai chili pepper, and coconut milk, Oxtails stewed in tomatoes and peanuts & Halo halo
- Kimmie OhhNovember 17, 2019Although this is a Filipino spot, there are other Asian cuisines served here. Get the oxtail kare kare with bagoong, lechon kawali, Indian goat curry, Korean bibimbap, Indonesian duck leg.
- BuzzFeedApril 23, 2014You might not be able to identify everything in the Halo Halo (shaved ice, coconut, tropical fruits, sweet beans, flan, and purple yam ice cream, to start with) but you’ll be too busy eating to care.
- ArturoMarch 16, 2013everything is good here but the tocino sliders are the best! The jicama adds a nice crunchy texture to the sweet, cured meat. The bread is like a hearty brioche and not just a regular bun.
- KevinJanuary 14, 2023Super low key restaurant slinging some filipino classics and then some. The goat curry is a banger that you shouldn’t miss out on. Ask for the Sinigwelas scoop for a rare ice cream treat.
- Kate AndersenJuly 26, 2013The lechon kawali is delicious, but also a small mountains worth of deep fried pork belly - ideally you'll split it (and maybe one of the tasty vegetable dishes) with a friend
- Lechon Kewali is incredible. Chicken Adobo is rock solid. The usually have a fish special; I recommend ordering it whole.
- Ask for Lechon Kawali, Amy's egg rolls, Ukoy or crisp shrimp fritters, Pancit, Bibingka, Adobo, & dessert must have: Flan & Halo-Halo. Chef Romy Dorotan's ice creams, too.
- Simran JaisingAugust 22, 2013Simply the most knowledgeable and well-educated proprietors of Filipino Diaspora Cuisine. Look for their special events and culinary lessons held in the backyard.
- Monday LisaNovember 12, 2013Sisig and pork belly. Finish it off with the halo halo. P.S. no one knows the wifi password, however they did offer me use of the restaurant CD player #bringyourownmixtape
- L JOctober 23, 2012Make sure you leave room for the dessert, it's sooo good! If they didn't have any food, I would go back just for the desserts, yes it's that good.
- ShellyNovember 5, 2018Food tasty, but no wow factor. Goat curry, rediculously small portion. Pork belly crisp, chicken adobo good, not outstanding. Loempia, ordinary, kimchee rice pleasant, and halo, halo, a big fail.
- The beef tapas for brunch & chicken adobo for dinner are excellent. Don't expect much for service. They're slow & you always need to nag the waiter, even when it's slow. Not attentive, but great food.
- Michael AbonMay 21, 2017Great food here, if you don't have anything to do later. Get the goat curry. The oxtail was alright, not great. Just expect to wait a long time for your food.
- Village VoiceDecember 20, 2010This Choice Eats attendee in 2010 brought Tocino (sugar-achuete cured pork) sliders in purple yam rolls with grated green mango and Chicken/Pork adobo skewers.
- Patrick RApril 1, 2016Order lots and share family style, super delicious, especially when dishes are combined.
- Tochtli DigitalNovember 4, 2012Maybe this the best place in this neighborhood. They have the best bibimbap, rips and good water melon salad !!!
- Ira ROSEN (aka Ike Rose)January 19, 2014The duck leg was excellent,, next table had the ribs, which looked and smells heavenly.
- Kai HsingJuly 7, 2018Oxtail was undercooked by a few hours and salad was iceberg from a fast food restaurant.
- AlfieNovember 22, 2011Best Filipino food in NYC. Best in Manhattan would be Maharlika, but it's worth the trek to Brooklyn to visit the "Yam"!
- Felipe FloresJuly 20, 2010Great lunch. Any of the mackerel dishes is worth a try. I find pad Thai in general to be an overrated dish but Yam's lunch pad Thai is one of the better ones I've tasted
- Best #Filipino ukoy, lumpia, chicken adobo , Bibingka here! I come here for # mango tart!
- Emily HamiltonAugust 18, 2015The eponymous purple yam ice cream is something everyone needs to experience.
- For brunch the beef tapas is more than delicious. You're welcome.
- MaxJuly 26, 2020Food is incredible. The service is extremely slow, there is one waiter/waitress for 8 tables.
- The New York TimesMay 5, 2010
- Jorin ReddishJune 15, 2010I wasn't thrilled with the scallion shrimp pancakes or the Korean Meatballs-- but the Lamb Curry special on Tuesday was insanely good.
- Jo HoJuly 1, 2012Chicken adobo is a little pricey for what it is. But man, that avocado ice cream is deeelishus.
- Try the goat curry, but be careful with the wrappings, they might fall apart on you.
- Jamy DrapezaAugust 11, 2013Measly amount of Kare Kare served NOT worth $20. Chicken adobo is awesome, but only three pieces?! Overall, entrees not worth it.
