Most dishes are South Indian. The owners are from Mumbai! Tasty delicious food. Good complementing drinks. They have a different version of Vada Pav which is sweet and spicy with an awesome gunpowder!
We had a great experience; perfect for a date night. Food is delicious, with a modern approach, some unique dishes. Almond chicken curry, seasonal salad, butternut squash paneer dosa 😋
This restaurant is my go to place for South Indian food in SF. The taste here is more street food like than authentic. Been here few times now and have tried many dosas. Very delicious all of them.
One of the best Indian restaurants in the Bay Area. Very classy place with really authentic flavors, even though they also do some fusion. Try the Chana Bhatura.
This is a really great restaurant, the interior is on point. The food is very well put together albeit a bit too spicy, this should be toned down a bit. Flavour combinations are very nice though.
Masala dosa , idli fries are great. Nice ambience. Good service and great staff. Can be a bit expensive , but worth every penny especially if you are game for some authentic south Indian food.
Fall in love with the Indian-spiced Chennai chicken. Juicy boneless nuggets of Fulton Valley chicken are marinated in Straus yogurt, cumin, and coriander, then pan-fried, so they're not super greasy. Read more
A personal fav! Must order menu items: 1. White Truffle Masala Dosa 2. Trumpet Mushroom Uttapum 3. Juhu Palm cocktail (gin+lime+coconutmilk+BirdseyeChili) -- not on the menu, made on special request!
Came with a group if friends and our excellent waitress assisted us with ordering expertly. We enjoyed ever dish. The flavors were excellent and the heat controlled. Be adventurous here!
Delicious. Highly recommended. My wife likes Indian food and I don't so I didn't think I would enjoy the experience. I had the seasonal summer uttapam with a side of yogurt and rice and loved it.
Many favor the original Valencia location, and perhaps rightly so, but the bigger, shinier version has the same menu favorites and then some. It's beginning to hit its stride too. [Eater 38 Member] Read more
Great indian place with classy interior. I had the Dosa, the plate is big enough as main course. It comes served with several sauces. Definitely recommended
Absolutely awesome Southern Indian Cuisine. Also they have full Vegan options. The service and Vib are just as good as the food. True most visit in SF.
Try the Peony (gin, coconut milk, lime, bird's eye chili, hibiscus masala nectar) and the Wry Rajah (rye, vermouth, cherry liqueur, bird's eye chili, mango juice). There are also fun bar treats.
The bhatura is massive. You can share it with 2-4 people depending on how hungry you are. Great balance of spice and curry flavor. Reminds me of home cooking.
HH: Mon-Thu 5-7pm + 9pm-close; At the bar, $6 Firestone “Pivo” Pilsner, $8 glasses of wine, and discounted apps, like $4 Pappadum and Chutney sampler, $6 Idli fries, and $8 Chennai Chicken.
One of SF's hidden BRUNCH spots. The options are fresh and exciting but the best part is there no line. During brunch hours call in advance to make sure they are not closed for a private party.
Tried a few of the fusion-y dosas (the white truffle and the spicy basil) but I would stick to the original paper masala, it's definitely the best one they have!
Yes, the dosas are delicious, but the most intriguing part of the menu is the small plates. They're seasonal, change often, and among the most creative dishes on the menu.
Be aware that the tasting menu is definitely not small portions, so either share one order with a friend or pace yourself so you make it through all 3 courses with room for dessert.
The warm curly pappadam are great, but Sunday brunch is even better. You can’t leave without trying one of the many namesake stuffed Indian crêpes. - Inspector
