If you buy a daily ticket and you know what car to sit in, you won't get ticketed. As of tomorrow they expire in 6 months instead of two weeks. Happy ridding.

Sandy CampbellMay 29, 2012What I call Great Neck is actually Russell Gardens. This is a geographically complicated area made of many small villages.
When coming from Penn Station, stand in the back of the 5th car. You'll be let out by the central stairs for easy access to taxis and the bridge to the north side of the station.
People who get on the train in the morning when I get off to transfer to a local: it works better if you let me get off before you try to get on.
Go slightly to the right (like 2 feet) of the watch the gap signs... Doors open there every time!

Oh, hell: After 50+ years, Frederick's (a block north of the station, at Grace Ave.) has closed. Nowhere to grab a burger or egg cream now. =(
- Go to Frederick's, a block north of the station, and grab yourself an egg cream.
- When you walk down the stairs to go to Penn, walk to the third or fourth "watch the gap" sign and get on that train. Its easiest for exiting Penn at 7th avenue and 32nd street.
Nobody here speaks English. Welcome to little Iran. And as you leave the train, please watch the gap between the train and the platform.
