- Prawn noodles shootout. Prefer 545 Whampoa Prawn Noodles 01-326 to Jasmine Pork Rib Prawn Noodle 01-316. Their soup base was lighter, yet more flavourful. Jasmine has more vege

- Many stalls near market, along Buffalo Rd selling fresh flowers (without stems), or garlands. Min $1/bag of loose flowers (can mix types). Going rate for flowers tied to string is $1.50/ft (~30cm)
- Banana leaves. Tanga Banana Leaf offers both pre-cut tray size (20-cents/pc), & these bigger ones used for prayers ($1). Stall is next to popular Chia’s Vegetable Supply 01-88
- Masala dosai. Savoury tastes from Sri Tiffan Stall #01-224. Enjoyed the potato-based filling, as well as the sambhar. The freshly-made vadais (Indian 'donuts') were warm & crispy
- Mee Goreng (fried noodles Indian-Muslim style). Ajimer Sharif prepares a generous plate. The red colour, from colouring, makes it look spicier! Fried egg is optional

- Fried chicken briyani set ($7 with egg, achar, pappadums & sambhar). Classic serving from Allauddin’s Briyani #01-232. Rice was moist & packed w flavours. Salty seasoned meat paired well
- TingJanuary 25, 2014Chia’s Vegetables Supply (#01-129) has imported vegetables not usually found in other wet markets like fresh herbs and sage. Thumbs up for the friendly service too!
- Apom. Enjoyed the egg apom from Sky Lab #01-227. Presentation-wise, I should dine in rather than takeaway, so that dish maintains its bowl shape😁
- Dum briyani. Aromatic rice from Yakader #01-259. Had raisins & nuts to add to flavour & texture. Chicken was decent. Served with sides of achar & vege curry
- Prata: Zoomed in on Prata Saga Sambal Berlada (#01-258), based on 4SQ tip. Loved it! Crispy, freshly-made prata. Picked mixed curry over plain. Plus owners r a jovial lot, joking as they serve u :-D
- Jerrald NgDecember 11, 2018Eat and tour like a local from wet market shopping to eating at Hawker Center and sari boutique stalls. Crowded most of the time, best time to visit is before 11am or after 2pm.
- Appams. Freshly-made and well-presented. From Sri Aachi Aappakadai #01-219. Not affordable though. 1 plain + 1 egg appam = $4!

- Kopi: Chinese-style. Not many stalls if u looking 4 a fix in d morning. After sampling d handful we cd find, Wah Heng @ #01-334 served d best. We cd taste d thick, strong brew. Zing!
- Rom GohSeptember 16, 2017The Whampoa Prawn Noodle here is very good but be prepared for long Q. The Duck rice along the same roll as the prawn noodle also has a long Q too.
- Banana leaves: Cut & cleaned pieces 2 serve food on fr #01-85. Gr8 for added authenticity 4 home parties. $1 5pcs . Another stall ard the corner claims to hv bigger pcs 4 d same price.

- Braised duck. Heng Gi sells a whole bird for $40. Can feed a family of 6 for 2 meals!
- Duck rice: Popular braised duck/goose rice can b found @ #01-335. Fresh & succulent. Lip-smacking! Note: Closed on Mondays
- Lot of dum briyani & Indian food stalls, chuddidar/salwar shops stairs. Goat/Mutton, fish and veggitable shops around. MRT & busses connect it well. An POSB/DBS/OCBC ATM in it.

- Freshly grated coconut: Stall 178 is d only 1 in d area. Pay premium of $3 per fruit (vs $1.50 @ Geylang Serai). They also stock up on wide variety of curry powders
