- Kars AlfrinkFebruary 6, 2016If you feel like splurging, treat yourself to a 12 SGD pork ribs and prawn mee soup. I had mine with the noodles on the side and was one happy camper.
- Chicken curry noodle. Pleasantly surprised by dish fr Teck Bee (stall #3). Not too salty. Well-cooked chicken meat that falls off bone. Slight heat is great on rainy days. Also sell Satay Bee-hoon
- Wantan mee. The hero item fr Xin Fei Fei Wanton Noodle #01-06 is the wantan itself. Well-made, generous fillings. For ur WTM, order either fried or boiled (or mixed!). Noodles r 'q' (chewy) too
- There's a Boon Tong Kee for duck too?? Try their $4 set meal. The chilli goes very well with the duck rice!
- Fishball noodles. If u love lots of "la pok" (fried pork lard cubes) in your noodles, Riverside Fishball Noodles (#30) is generous. Gives the dish a fuller taste. Sliced fishcakes are too firm though
- Satay beehoon. Tucked in a corner of the food centre, Teck Bee 01-03 prepares this hard-to-find dish. Tasty overall although I wish there would be more peanut in the satay sauce
- Melvin ChiaJanuary 25, 2014$10 Big Prawn Noodles stall near the toilet, Kway Chap with Duck Rice stall, and Chye Tow Kway stall are the best! Chye Tow Kway hawker is deaf, so just point at what you want on the counter-top!
- Shannon LowDecember 31, 2018Best ngor hiang hae piah I've ever had in my life. Also very good chye tow kway and char kway teow. Feizai coffee is also good, and soya bean curd looks good too.
- K TanDecember 31, 2016Most of the stalls serve very good food. The famous stalls are the prawn noodle and the char kway teow. Both have long lines. For those who want something healthy, the fish soup is especially good.
- Economy rice. Shuang Yu #01-09 possibly prepared 1 of the best tasting 'ko lo yuk' (crispy sweet/sour pork). Surprised by the flavour👍🏼
- Grilled fish. Seng Huat Western Food #01-12 using frozen Dory fillet, a common fish meat at such food stalls. Meat lacked flavour & texture, despite a nice even grill overall
- BBQ chicken wings home order. Chong Pang 1 (stall 7) free delivery for orders over SGD 30. Wings $1.30, whole spring chicken $9, Otah (big) $1, Otah (small) $0.40. Call 83303996
- Prawn mee standard drop liao don't listen to ppl who tell you otherwise. Hock Heng fish soup is the best. Xiu fei fei wanton noodle damn gd shuijiao, too. Chongpang chicken & pork satay sedap, too!
- The prawn noodles has peppery clear soup. Odd soup base but really nice and fresh prawn. The koay chap is really good. The fried prawn noodle and leng chee kang no good, no18 fried koay teow pretty ok
- Cheng tng: Stall 32 (Mohamed Sultan Rd Hot & Cold Cheng Tng) selling same recipe since his father's time. Opens Tue, Thu & Sat fr 12pm-ish to 9pm cos stall owner says he's operating it single-handedly
- Mag TYMarch 16, 2018My 1st time here during dinner time. Had Western, satay, chicken wing and cheng tng. Nice dinner :)
- John WJanuary 9, 2016Boon tong kee braised duck rice and Kway chap - cheap and awesome. The black rice is so fragrant n the duck so tender
- Marlow LimFebruary 26, 2023Cosy little Food centre by the river. Most foods are nice and reasonable priced. Airy place, loved the ambience.
- Enjoyed a thick cup of cold soy milk from House of Soya Beans #01-11. Strong hints of fresh soya
- Mee rebus. I was unimpressed with my serving from the corner Malay stall (no name). Overly thick sauce, with undetectable shrimp taste or fragrance. For $3, I got 1 hard boiled egg
- Go for the Sweet and Sour Pork (咕咾肉) at Shuang Yu Mixed Vegetables Rice. Nice...
- Kars AlfrinkAugust 20, 2016Braised duck rice, carrot cake and prawn mee (see separate tip) are all very good here.
- Appie TiffieApril 17, 2016Carrot cake was nice but not something I prefer. Maybe should try the famous wanton and char kuah teow next time
- Chicken rice. My chicken meat from Boon Tiong Kee (stall 15) was overcooked. My rice was undercooked, many grains still hard. Unimpressed
- AvannaJune 22, 2015Pig organ soup, fish soup, braised duck rice, nasi Padang and fruit stalls are all really fresh.
- Must try: the fish soup stall next to cheng tang! Love the friendly auntie and yummy soup!
- Jacqueline AngFebruary 13, 2012Awesome tom yum soup at far end of food centre (right side). Same stall selling wonderful lotus roots soup. Must try.
- Sugar cane and green apple from Chun Kee Fresh Fruit Juice is nice. Also try sugar cane and beet root.
- Reyane KangAugust 2, 2015I am not a wanton mee person but I find their wanton mee is really gd. Worth the queue! Xin fei fei wanton me
- Belinda Au YongJuly 27, 2010Haven't been back in easily 5 yrs & e place retains it's charm. Prawn mee & the sublime gingko nut dessert. Be polite tho - e grumpy fella is nowhere as sweet as his wares :}
- Don't waste time queuing fir the wanton noodle, much better ones everywhere. Fried carrot cake taste good but too soft to my liking.
- Darren ThenSeptember 2, 2018No18 CKT is very overrated! Queue is artificially created. I’ve waited for 30min with 6 customers in front of me. All ordered 1 plate or 1 packet each. You can calculate how long will your wait be.
- Charmaine LuiOctober 27, 2010Hock Heng Fish Soup opens only from Thu-Sun. Friendly, generous, yummy! :)
- Kimberly SimNovember 25, 2011Noo Cheng big prawn noodles + Cheng Teng! Note that the Cheng Teng stall is only opened on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday!
- Must eat. Char kueh teow, prawn noodles, herbal soup, duck noodle/porridge. ^_^
- Joanna ChenMarch 28, 2011Awesome crispy dumpling from store 27. But they r close on every tue n wed. N operate from 12-2pm and 5-8pm
- Jem WongApril 25, 2011Char Kway tiao so so only! Adam prawn mee, Satay beehoon & western food is my all time fav. there!!
