- Martin TiedemannMay 21, 201217 September: Ride London's free passenger ferry, chugging across the Thames between Woolwich and Silvertown every ten minutes during the day. A ferry has crossed here since the 14th century.
- Adam SmithSeptember 14, 2012An interesting way to cross the Thames as a pedestrian. No real reason you'd be heading between Silvertown and Woolwich on foot if not just for the ride though.
- dyvroethMarch 2, 2013The crossing is fast, fun and free. Why not drop a £1 coin into the RNLI collection bucket on your way through ? The government doesn't give them a penny.
- dyvroethMarch 2, 2013If you are approaching the north access, be really careful you don't miss the left filter for the pier on the A117. Road signs here are rubbish.
- Mark JansenJune 26, 2011What an outdated bit of transportation this is! A car ferry in the middle of a huge city. Slow cumbersome and expensive to run. If London had better planning this would have been a tunnel. Fun though!
- The over 100 year old derelict paid ferry can still be seen to the east of the current ferry.
- Martin LeeJanuary 31, 2011What a great way to cross the river. Hilarious the way it majestically spins across the thames. And it’s free too!
- Not just for cars & trucks... a great way to cross the river as a cyclist or pedestrian too!
- jack butlerNovember 4, 2010relax and enjoy the ride. After all it is free for everyone and less prone to accidents unlike the tunnel
- Shelley KeableAugust 1, 2010If only 1 ferry running it can be a bit slow....but still more fun than the tunnel!
- Ed HarrisonJuly 30, 2011If you can't see the barrier, then don't assume you'll get on the next boat!
