The underdog award goes to the one and only fish ball noodle stall. The devil’s in the fried shallot details - we were completely dumbfounded how tasty these bowls of springy goodness were. Omnomchew

Soto ayam. Siti Nur Liyana 01-14 serves a 5-star version of lontong in chicken soup. Enjoyed the aromatic tumeric with every sip. Have the soul-soothing soup with yellow noodles (mee soto ayam)

Adam's Delights most ordered dish: S$6 Mee Goreng Special (Combo includes fried egg, cheesy fries & braised mutton). Wholesome meal, yumz, especially with braised mutton & fresh non-spicy green chilli

Pork leg bee hoon. 成记 (Cheng Ji) #01-24 sells this rare but simple dish. Using canned braised pig trotters, the taste brought back familiar childhood memories. Best eaten without the lime

Nasi lemak alternative stall. When Selera Rasa & No. 1 are not open/ sold out, your only other option is Siti Nur Liyana #14. Don't expect bismati rice but serving is decent. Generous w chilli sauce

Laksa. The bowl from Adam Fishball Noodle #01-25 was thick & tasty, but not of the Janggut or Katong Laksa standard. Still, it adds to the food options at this food centre 👍🏼

Here's my verdict on maggi goreng combos: Ibrahim mee stall has the tastiest cheese fries. Adam's delight has the best maggi goreng. Al-sheikh has the sweetest mutton chop.

Duck noodles. Surprised to find that #01-26 served tasty (albeit slightly salty) roasted and braised duck meat. Now I have another alternative when the Nasi Lemak queues r unbearable :-)

The famous Nasi Lemak which Lee Hsien Loong served to the Indonesian president. Prawn noodles is pretty good too. I personally like the Mee Goreng special.

Wantan mee. Surprised to find WTM from House of Braised Duck #01-26. Wantans were too salty for my taste, char siew (BBQ pork) slices were sweet but lacked aroma. Still, good to find cuisine options

Siti nur Liyana has the best mee soto/ soto ayam. Sweet and savoury as compared to Selamat Datang mee soto. Which is always closed and is far too sweet

The banana milk from 01-29 is really worth it. Don't be intimidated by the over zealous 01-28 pink signboard auntie. Be a man/woman, do the right thing :P

Honestly, the only stalls worth lining up to eat the food are the two nasi lemak stalls and Adam Rd Noo Cheng prawn noodles. Other stalls are ok standard if you're not discerning in taste.

Gado gado. Disappointed with serving from Zaiton Satay 01-07. Dish was mainly just ketupat cubes & sauce. Some beancurd cubes. Less than 5 pieces of cut long beans & cabbage 👎🏼
