Hefty fried plantains are smashed, fried twice to get extra crispy, then used as the sandwich "bread" for a variety of fillings. We love the fried cheese version; it's salty, meaty, and delicious.

Try the pulled pork patacon. It's a sandwich with fried plantains as the bun! That's what they are famous for. One is enough for 2 ppl. Check in on yelp to get a free tequeno (cheesy bread). Yum!

Patacon Pisao was my first try at Venezuelan food. I prefer their arepa to their patacon though. Get pernil in your patacon (or arepa or cachapa or tacucho)! The pernil is succulent. Put all the sauces

The llanero patacon made our list of NY's 101 Best Sandwiches. It's stuffed with carne asada, and unless you want to wear it, you’ll gingerly unfold the foil wrapper as you go. Read more

Get an Arepa and fill it up with whatever you want. It can get a little messy, but worth it. Tres Leches cake is pretty good here.

This is more of a take out location than a sit down, however it was all worth it. Our group order Patacon & Cachapas Sand & Grilled Chk salad. The Cachapas tasted like my grandmothers. We enjoyed it!

But the main attraction is the patacon, a sandwich constructed with disks of twice-fried green plantains rather than bread. Overstuffed, dense, chewy, unwieldy and tasty.

The food is awesome. Especially love the arepas. Small, but super filling. El jugo de parcha (passion fruit juice) is amazing!

All the patacones are worth your taste buds. If you eat here too often, switch it up with the arepas.

Decent arepa sandwiches. Terrible service especially the one Latina girl who has a big attitude problem
