Gumbo, shrimp etouffee, and corn bread. This place is the GOAT, there’s a lunch rush for local office workers but the line moves fast. I came here everyday during my 3 days in Houston, it’s that good!

Great value for the price for the daily regular gumbo, shrimp etouffee, jambalaya, and red beans & rice w/ sausage. Friday special, baked catfish w/ shrimp etouffee topping, served on dirty rice.

Treebeards. In the downtown Houston tunnel system has some of the best homemade food: red beans & rice w/sausage, cheese & onions... Chicken & Sausage gumbo are standouts.
