Deep breaths, come prepared (pens included!) and plan a solid night out while in line at nearby Gramercy or Gershwin theaters...or a killer show at the Roseland Ballroom!

New York City’s main post office. The 1912 Farley building is an iconic, two-city-block-encompassing post office that even non-New Yorker’s can recognize for its beauty and imposing footprint

Very nice building! Huge pot office. It feels as if you are in a different era! Much better than going to a regular ugly post office :)

Suddenly hand cancellation is only free for the first 50. Rest are $0.05 each! Split your invitations to 50 at a time at each window and save yourself time and money.

Open late & will hand cancel mail (for important or delicate pieces like wedding invitations that you don't want done by machines). First 50 pieces free, 5 cents per piece after that for the service.

Don't be fooled. Just because it states that it's open 24 hrs doesn't mean you'll have window svcs. Come after 7 pm on Sunday for a mo, you can fuck yourself till the next day!

It's great to sit here on warm days and enjoy the sun, but bring a towel or something to sit on- otherwise it's too hot to sit!

For dropping off prepaid packages, avoid all midtown post offices. Packages will sit at local processing center for days before moving on.

Truly awful. Minimum 20-min wait any time of day. You could use the automated machines instead, but they recently replaced them with shiny new versions that are almost entirely nonfunctional.

Don't bother with the automated machines unless you want your packages back. The scales are often wrong, the instructions don't match their own specs, and the machines now don't cut the labels - awful
