Split your invitations to 50 at a time at each window and save yourself time and money.

Use the handicapped entrance on 33rd. near 9th. Only one window but often no line.

Most helpful staff that I have err dealt with at a post office. No appt necessary for passport applications.
For dropping off prepaid packages, avoid all midtown post offices. Packages will sit at local processing center for days before moving on.
Workers are always grumpy and the lines never move faster than a snails pace.
Scott InglesJuly 10, 2019Truly awful. Minimum 20-min wait any time of day. You could use the automated machines instead, but they recently replaced them with shiny new versions that are almost entirely nonfunctional.

Windows are open until 10pm weekdays and 7pm Saturday & Sunday. Lobby with automated meters never closes!!!
When raining, be very careful on the steps. I just saw a pigeon slip!!!

Longest windows hours of any NYC post office yahiiiii! M/F 7a to 10p - Sat 9a to 9p - Sun 11a to 7p.
Come with copies and pictures ahead of time for faster service.
Don't bother with the automated machines unless you want your packages back. The scales are often wrong, the instructions don't match their own specs, and the machines now don't cut the labels - awful
