Bests routes for downtown weekdays are the 20, 85, and 131. The 36 and 40 take so long, and the 214,216,217,219 are too expensive compared to the 20,35, and 131 local fare of $1.25...
Be sure to keep an umbrella with you! Couple Houston weather and a leaky roof and you're bound to get drenched on a rainy day.
On Sunday a clean up crew cleans up the benches so you may have to stand for awhile- If you ride on the 36 or 58 remember that they don't run on Sunday
