- Ian ThomtoriJune 27, 2017Where it all began! The discerning Din Tai Fung fans will definitely agree that the food here is of slight better quality than overseas branches. Go for the xiao long bao & fried rice! #ThomtoriEats
- Dave McAugust 31, 2018This shop isn’t as nice as most, but it’s the very first and gets crowded quick. Every once in a while a tour bus will stop right outside for the dumpling pilgrims to pay homage to this holy site!
- JuliaNovember 29, 2017Worth the wait in line! We were two persons and had to wait for 90 minutes (just go to a cafe nearby) at around 12 pm but it was so worth it! Best xianlaobao are the pork and shrimp ones.
- Constance | @croostifoodiAugust 21, 2018Go for the xiao long bao (truffle and pork) and the spicy pork and shrimp wontons. Seaweed salad and mushroom salad are also good. Be prepared to wait for a while.
- L MAugust 11, 2017The Xiao Long Bao is divine! My friends and I also ordered the 红油抄手 and we left satisfied. The service in this place was superb and almost every waiter/waitress spoke English/Korean and Japanese.
- _September 6, 2016The original location! Get the original dumplings, spicy pork and chives dumplings, and some fried dumplings of your choice! The line goes by pretty quick even with the queue.
- Daniel AFebruary 11, 2018The original Din Tai Fung. Get here early on a week day (10am) and you must get pork soup dumplings, spicy shrimp and pork wontons, and the chocolate dumplings. Enjoy!
- Besides their famous soup dumplings, you should try their chicken/beef soups, pork chop noodle soup, zhajiang mian, fish dumplings, shrimp & pork shumai, mini black sesame bun, mini taro bun
- eifehMarch 18, 2015Din Tai Fung will always have my favorite soup dumplings. The Xinyi Rd. location is the original and the wait can be very long. Favorite soup dumplings are the shrimp with loofah. Try fried rice too!
- Elena RaevskayaMay 15, 2019That’s a real place to visit. I adore the service. The staff is perfect like Swiss watches. And the food is perfect. Real top notch!
- June Young ChoiJanuary 10, 2017The original Din Tai Fung store. Be prepared to wait at least 45 mins during lunch hour to get a table. XLB's are a must as well as other non dumpling items. Such as fried rice and Taro buns.
- EricOctober 8, 2017The original. Classic flavors unique to it's location. Small venue, but cozy and very efficient. Great service. Get the house special shrimp and pork wontons.
- Connie ChiuNovember 30, 2014Go before 11 to beat the lunch and tourist rush. Try the shrimp and squash xiaolongbao and the taro desserts xiaolongbao.
- Leonard LinNovember 27, 2014I've always avoided the original location due to the crowds, but there's no line if you get there right when they open! (a few minutes before 10am on weekdays) XLB breakfast ftw.
- Jelly LiMApril 29, 2019The OG of Din Tai Fung. On Monday, the queue was 2 hours. But if you don’t mind share table they can allocate you a spot if available.Great service.Quality food&better than overseas branch.
- Fuyuhiko TakayaJanuary 14, 2012I ate XLB and others in NOV 2010. I think this restaurant is the highlight for foodie travel to Taipei ! Absolutely fantastic ! Vegetable is also yum as well. See the link for the photo ! Read more
- shal923hJuly 11, 2016Try coming here during off-peak hrs. But if you visit while there's a big line...the wait is worth it. Enjoy walking around the area a bit during your wait, and the number system is helpful, too
- KahWee TengJuly 1, 2015Food asides, Din Tai Fung is famous for its bathroom which is exceptionally clean with seats that warms. Complete your experience with a rare opportunity to enjoy this highly sought after facility.
- They have a waiting app which will send you 3 push notifications prior to your number being called. You do have to physically go and get a number first tho, then just scan the QR code in the app.
- ianlanlanianOctober 7, 2015The legendary xiaolongbao are worth a try. This is the original Din Tai Fung that started the famous international chain. It's a bit pricey but worth to check it out. Staff speak many languages.

- Chai LatteApril 19, 2014Original xiao long bao restaurant. Come a bit late and you don't need to wait that long. Staff are just too fast that might stress you a bit and you would eat it faster than normal. Worth to try once.
- Megu KJanuary 3, 2016Waits range from 50-150 minutes. Get your number and take a walk down Yong Kang. Better than HK and Japan locations; worth the wait
- Rick NijhuisNovember 28, 2016The original Din Tai Fung, home of the xiao long bao / soup dumpling. Long queues but ask for a seat at one of the communal tables to skip the line!
- Sarah LeeMay 11, 2017Gotta wait a long time if you hit peak hours. Xiaolongbao!! The waiters can practically speak any language...amazing
- DannJanuary 22, 2017Just don't miss their seasonal dishes if you are lucky to find them there. Their stir-fry vegetible dishes were my favorite.

- Daniel RoyNovember 26, 2017This Din Tai Fung is the original. Get there early, get a number, and expect a long wait!
- Vivian WooNovember 8, 2014It's packed during lunch hours, be prepared to wait. After trying this and Malaysia's Pavilion Din Tai Fung, I'd have to say I prefer Pavilion's version of the xiao long bao which has a thinner skin.
- Peter Paul van der HoutNovember 13, 2016Almost anything is recommendable. But please do order Xia Long Bao (=pork!), that is really awesome!

- Ashton TanFebruary 9, 2019Food is slightly better than other outlets. Service is really good. Multilingual, good queuing system and quick serving. Worth trying.
