Came here on Sunday for 11 am show (one act). Started queueing at 9:15 and got in as 7th person. Staff is amazing and super helpful. Grab a translation guide for 500 yen!

Get an english guide and hang it to the backside of the front seat. Even though you have a seat from the front rows, get a pair of binoculars to throughly observe facial expressions of actors.

Front row seats are the best for a four hour show. But if you want something cheap and quick, you can get last minute standing room tickets for one show (1 hr long) for ¥1000. English translator avail

Trivia: the sidings of the rooftop are all engraved with this phoenix design with its head pointing to the right, in exception to this one which points to the left. Find it as a good luck charm(•❛◡❛•)

You can’t buy tickets in advance or for other people. Arrive 11:15 for the 1 pm show and be there by 12:40 to have a seat, otherwise you will be standing up

You can enjoy Japanese old-style stage act kabuki, as well as Japanese traditional souvenir shopping in B2 floor. Even just visiting is enjoyable for both locals and tourists.

Performances are exclusively run by Shochiku. They are nearly every day, and tickets are sold for individual acts as well as for each play in its entirety. (Wikipedia)

Samurai showdowns, damsels in distress, spirited shouts from the audience—all in a day’s performance of Japanese dance drama. Watch an entire show or buy same-day balcony seats and catch a single act.

It has been 1.5 years since they opened the new building. Right underneath is where you can find souvenir. If you don't have enough time to see the whole show, you can just watch one act

Ticket start to sell 1-2 hours before the show, many people are lining up, pronto cafe right next to it is a good place with wifi to rest and wait for the show after purchasing the ticket.

Tip for tourists: Try the single act play which will cost you Y800-Y1,500. Each act lasts for 30 minutes max. You can also rent audio receivers with English language commentary.

You cannot use any electronic device during the performance, and cellphone signal is (maybe purposely) limited in the building. Use your phone outside the building.

The 1400 yen ticket for standing room is a good sample of kabuki if you don't speak Japanese. You should have opera glasses though.
