Great park for pretty much anything. I walk my dog, fly kites, see history, and so much more. They have basketball courts too. I wish they had lights because the park does not close until 10pm

Jones Point Park is located on the Potomac River, just south of Old Town Alexandria. Its lighthouse, built in 1855, is the last remaining riverine lighthouse in Virginia.

You can get directly to the water by following the trail and veering off at somewhat hidden access spots. I'd advise against swimming, it is the Potomac, after all.

Unlike many other parks, they are serious about closing time. If you think you'll be late, park on the street outside the park

Careful, you're going to spot a lot of people carrying their dogs over their shoulders along the boardwalk. They aren't crazy, it's the park rules.

This is a great rest stop on the trail. The county/city did a nice job building this.
