- One of the oldest stations in the system. I often try to imagine life 100 years ago when I'm here. I feel like I need one of those late 19th century hats.Upvoted 3 weeks ago
- Coolest L station in the Loop! Historically renovated to look like it did when it opened in 1897. Make sure to check out the period advertisements while you wait on the platform.
- Daniel LeySeptember 19, 2018One of the more unique looking stations, certainly retains its character!
- Brown on the west side, purple pink and orange on the east. Don't choose wrong or you'll have to scan your card again!
- If you're going north and you want to make sure you get a seat you can take the Brown Line around the loop rather than the Purple Line.Upvoted Mar 11

- Mark Try-BeerSeptember 30, 2011Every bird revels in the madness it is inducing on Uncle Saltporker. The house, under drifts of letters, molting, and bird shit, now pushes the uncle to burn anything that is represented on paper.
- Drew NelsonJanuary 6, 2013I like old school look of this stop. Makes the bitter cold slightly more enjoyable. Slightly.
- Stand and watch all the trains going the other way and wait.
- While you can transfer from Brown to the other lines here it will cost you 25 cents.
- Another stop that will always remind me of her! Love you so much Kristina!
- Tim RudyNovember 20, 2011Blue line to O'Hare make sure you have cash. Machines don't take plastic. All i had was a 10 for 2.25 fare. Oh well.
- Truly, the coolest most historic station on the CTA today.
- The smell of pigeon shit is enough to choke you alone, but add industrial strength cleaner on top of that.
- Jarek and Caleb first heard the call from a bank teller about a possible burglar traveling on the "L" from this station.
- Decent stop if you can ignore the nasty pigeon infestation!
- A nice example of what EL Stations were like in the 1890's.
- Hold your breath down the outer stairs. Always exit far south by Jackson to avoid pigeon poor.
