- 2 of my fav stalls - 133 Penang CKT ($4) and He Zhong Carrot Cake ($2). Waiting time was about 20 minutes each at 7pm on a Sunday. Best to come with more friends to help chop seats and queue!
- Chai tow kway (fried carrot cake) shootout betw Seng Kee #02-182 & He Zhong #02-185. Both r tasty. SK's fried pieces r firm & savoury. HZ's is fluffier & more fragrant, & their eggs more fried
- Jess ThiaDecember 28, 2016Dec 2016: Bring mum here for tea break ~ popular He Zhong Carrot Cake (from #02-185). She's already eyeing on Satay & Hokkien Mee here for me to da-bao home next time when I'm here before meal hour 😅
- He Zhong Carrot Cake: one of the best white carrot cakes i’ve tried so far. Cheap & yummy!
- Vegetarian options: fried carrot cake, yong tau foo, muffin/bread, prata, banana fritters, yam cake, local pancake/desserts, specialty vegetarian, fruits, popiah, rojak, beancurd, thunder tea rice
- Jess ThiaDecember 17, 2016Glad I chose the satisfying semi-soupy Sliced Fish Bee Hoon with LaLa, topped with fragrant-bitter fried garlic and pork lard (to enhance flavour) from Prosperity Seafood White Bee Hoon stall #02-180.
- Economy rice ('chai png'). Enjoyed the home-style dishes from Siew Kee Curry Mixed Rice 02-153. Many unique yet tasty offerings
- Fried beef hor fun. Tasty plate from Hele Beef Hor Fun #02-197, although I didn’t taste the famed “wok hei” (smokiness). Well-marinated thinly sliced beef. Plenty of vege. This plate $6
- Stall 02-189 with simple sign "Nasi Lemak Zha Kueh Min Jian Kueh" makes their mi chiam kueh (Chinese pancake) individually. Soft batter style. 2 filling options: peanuts or tau sar (red bean paste)
- Fishball noodles. Lee Kwang Kee #03-179 serves without 'her giao' (fish dumpling). Signature bowl comes with slices of large fish cakes (normal & spicy). Likewise for their factory-made fishballs
- Kopi. According to an elderly local who lives in the neighbourhood (forever), the top kopi stalls are: Hainan (#02-163), Hup Cheong (#02-173) & Eng Kee (#02-169) — in that order
- One of the busier breakfast stalls on a working day. Sheng Cheng #02-165 prepares minced meat fishball noodles. Ask for lar pok (fried pork lard cubes) for an added oomph!
- Chee cheong fun (steamed rice rolls). Fans flock to #02-183 simple for simple & clean breakfast. Run by an elderly couple, you can be sure of traditional, unadulterated tastes
- Porridge/congee. There are several stalls here but neighbours zoom in on 粥品 #01-121. Flavourful base of rice porridge. Comes with a free stick of yutiao (fried dough fritters)
- Jess ThiaDecember 17, 2016Stopover this perceived warm & claustrophobic place for late lunch seeing so many vacated carpark lots, and chose the seat facing Bukit Timah Hill and open space for a pleasant short chill-out moment.
- Chuck PNovember 5, 2016the thunder tea rice at the vegetarian stall is so big n good. the steamed egg at the steamed stall pits the steamed egg on top of a pork patty, not just a little minced pork. for 2.80. good n deal
- Soy sauce chicken. My serving from Bukit Timah Eating House #01-197 came without chicken skin, the part I enjoy most when eating this style. The meat was overcooked — soft & almost falling off bone
- TingMay 4, 2014Do not miss the carrot cake. The white version is one of the best rendition you can find in Singapore.
- Duck noodle. Chilli sauce was light enough to enjoy the well-braised duck meat from Seah Family Duck Noodle #02-129. Sauce was overly sweet though. Herbal soup was strong but peppery
- Char Siew (BBQ pork) rice. Heavily caramelised meats from Taste The Kwang’s Black #02-179. Decent $4 serving. Comes with some vege & half an egg. Boring soup. Eat with chopsticks!
- Chendol. Thick palm sugar (Gula Melaka) syrup served at Nyonya Chendol #02-147. So thick it sticks to the bowl & spoon! Enjoyed both usual red bean topping and one with sweet corn. $2 a bowl
- Seafood bee hoon. Clean-tasting soup base from He Le #02-180. Lots of cabbage. Their crawfish + prawn + sliced fish + lala option was decadent 😬
- Penang char kway teow. A much welcome addition to our hawker fare. I go here when I'm looking for a change. 133 Penang Authentic #02-193 is run by true Penangites. Generous ingredients in CKT
- Jess ThiaDecember 17, 2016Its my first time stopover this perceived warm & claustrophobic place for late lunch, as I'm too hungry before continuing work nearby. Will be back during non-peak meal hrs, so many good food here.
- leng kee sliced fish bee hoon: one of the best of its kind. they are generous with the fish slices, the chilli has the oomph factor and the soup is flavorful. healthy food seldom tastes so good!
- Get ur homemade curry puffs (epok epok) from Selera Hidayah #02-178. 60-cents for generous potato filling; $1 for added piece of hard-boiled egg
- Satay beehoon: If u r a fan, u will know that Sin Chew #02-162 is 1 of d top stalls in SG. Peanut sauce is smooth & generous. Stall also sells cuttlefish kangkong dish
- Love the mutton soup (not the beauty world one), satay bee hoon, tasty Thai Hut, hokkien mee, and now there is ice cream too!
- Chee cheong fun (steamed rice rolls). Popular breakfast spot 183 Chee Cheong Fun #02-183 serves clean-tasting rolls. Sweet ‘tau cheo’ sauce was flavourful. Didn't like the overcooked yam cake though
- Chicken rice. Enjoyed a serving from Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice #02-191. Meat was tender over fragrant rice. This plate $3.50
- Ivy LaiMay 31, 2014The satay bee Hoon Is nice! The spices in the gravy is unique and different fr whr I ate fr other hawkers. However the kangkong cuttlefish is a great disappointment!
- Kaizad MedoraDecember 10, 2016Prosperity Seafood White Bee Hoon stall serves a great healthy (comparatively) meal. The Chilli is great too..
- Estrella ChuaApril 21, 201702-197 Bukit Timah Eating Hut sells 油鸡面 and 油鸡饭. Soup and egg is legit. Will be even better if the chicken was boneless (cos I'm lazy).
- Peter Pans grilled fish is gross. Don't ever eat the fish there. Order chicken. Nice they serve with wedges and cold coleslaw. The pizzeria has the nicest seafood aglio olio with chili and clams!
- Torzin SApril 12, 2015Nice food center, located on the 2nd floor, has many well known shop. The most famous is maybe Satay Bee Hoon. Hard to find seat in lunch time.
- Hokkien Mee. Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee #02-145 serves it wet and tasty. Generous ingredients. Slurp!
- Ivy LaiNovember 24, 2015The 144 fish soup is not as fantastic as it claimed. Peppery soup with fish slice. Not a trace of veggies in the soup.
- Thunder tea rice (leicha). Average serving from Loving Wholesome Vegetarian Food #02-188. Not much variety of ingredients. Tea soup not flavourful
- Kenny LowJune 26, 2016Carrot cake! The second last row where there are 2 stalls selling it. They're both great and cheap in my opinion!
- Coolrunner7January 21, 2016Fish soup stall 14X looks so-so $1 more than the other stall behind near side staircase. But chilli paste is good. Soup has less fishy smell during or after taste even without much vegetables.
- Clothes alteration services: There r @ least 4 shops on d 1st flr offering to shorten ur pants length, adjust waist size, etc. D most active appears 2 b unit 77
- Iced-cold tea. Enjoyed a cup on a hot day. Got this from Soon Kee #02-200

- Coolrunner7October 7, 2015Corner stall facing the link bridge selling soya bean is the freshest and cheapest (at 70cts per cup) you can find in the west.
- Famous kway chap stall here that i ate for the past 10 years. Can someone tell me how this plate of meat/ingredients costs $10? And of course, missing stuff from a basic kway chap meal
- Alicia TanMay 24, 2013My go-to stall here is #02-145 Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee. Tasty food and generous servings. Thumbs up!
- BeeApril 27, 2011Pasta from Mien (forgot to take note of the stall no! The signboard is in red) is good & cheap ($4 on average with reasonable portions)! Here's my chicken & mushroom pasta in cream sauce!
- Anya RenoirAugust 9, 2015Try the bak chor mee and pig trotters noodles at Zhong Pin Noodle House #02-147
- Must hv the kuey chap. Come early to queue and avoid after 10am else everything sold out!
