- Chai tow kway (fried carrot cake). When u got craving & cannot wait, Carrot Cake 26 is the alternative to highly popular Chey Sua. They also offer the black sauce version✌🏼
- 3-in-1 Noodles. Look For Mee #02-21 recommended it. For $3.50, u get pork (braised & boiled), fried wantan, fishball, fishcake slices, stewed mushroom slices, beansprouts. Eclectic but unimpressed
- Briyani. Enjoyed a chicken briyani ($3.90) from JJ Indian Cuisine #02-19. Aromatic curry. Chicken drumstick thoroughly cooked. Stall has egg or mutton options too. Available fr 11:30am
- Roast meats. Surprisingly tasty roast duck & pork from Hong Kong Lung Hwa 02-18. Smoky, juicy, & full of marinate. Served with vegetables at no extra charge
- Premium nasi lemak, with garlic pork ($6.80). Unsure if I’d order again. Sambal was sweet & not overly spicy. Fried pork was easy to eat but not savoury. Served with achar & ikan bilis
- Home-style dishes with rice. Dishes from economy rice stall Curry Cooked Rice & Porridge #02-06 were comforting. Enjoyed my plate. Stall run by middle-aged couple
- Epok epok (curry puff). Perdana Muslim #02-36 sells them for 80-cents each, a slight premium compared to usual 50- to 70-cents. Skin was thin & crispy. Potato-only filling was tasty but lacks aroma
- Fried Hokkien prawn noodles. Tian Tian Lai #02-27 cooks up very wet and tasty plates. Expect long waits. Deserves its status as one of the best in Singapore 🏆
- Mini shou tao (longevity buns). Teochew Handmade Pau #02-02 offers this alternative to birthday cakes, for the elderly to reminisce traditional practice. Call to order

- Thunder tea rice. Delicious & crunchy bowl from Traditional Hakka Lui Cha #02-49. Lots of vege. Not unnecessarily salty
- Ban Mian. Basic preparation from Fried Fish Soup #02-24. Because the stall sells sliced fish soup, my bowl had unique toppings of fried silky egg. Soup was clear & bland
- Wantan mee. Joo Heng 02-12. Noodles had bitter aftertaste. Their wantan filling recipe uses a lot of pepper. Char siew cooked with an portable electric oven, lacking the smokiness

Low CQSeptember 16, 2013Supreme Pork Chop Rice (一品排骨）is now available at Blk 127 Lorong 1 #02-19. Used to be only available in Middle Road, now you can also enjoy it if you are in Toa Payoh.
One of the best food center to eat local. They house the most traditional local taste that was pass down from generations before.- Beancurd. Not as impressed with the dessert from Pure Soya Bean #02-28 as I was with their soya milk. It lacks aroma
- Chai tow kway (fried carrot cake). Chey Sua #02-30 offers tasty white-only dishes. Long waiting times as cook is meticulous

MJune 13, 2014what makes or breaks for me for fish soup besides no 'xingwei' is the chilli and the soup. 02-08's fish soup was quite enjoyable.- Soya milk. Thick & aromatic cup from Pure Soya Bean #02-28. $1.20

Bak Chor mee, Fishball noodles, Fish porridge, Vegetarian, etc etc. It's a place for good food at down-to-earth prices!- Fishball noodles. 135 Fishball Noodle #02-11 may hv lots of newspaper mentions but I find his fishballs too firm/hard for my liking

- Kway chap. Da Cheng Kway Chap #02-14 sees long queues but we were unimpressed with quality and flavours

- Working Monday lunch. Most food stalls were closed. I counted only 9 were selling meals. U r better off visiting the 4 kopitiams nearby

Plenty of gd food here, but pls spread the word by mouth instead of appear on TV, the hokkien mee appeared on 抢摊大行动collapse eventually after the failure to cope with public demand
"western food" 02-25 has great western food. Must try! Fish n chips are very good!

The lemon sauce chicken chop next to the Hokkien Mee is quite unique.
