- Real Living | At HomeJune 20, 2013If you're looking for old school DC nature and majesty then RCP is what you seek. Carving through the city like an artery from Mother Nature, it has everything: parks, paths, and solitude. Enjoy!Upvoted Mar 27
- Danielle DaSilvaJuly 12, 2018Sprawling oasis in the middle of DC. Great for hiking, biking, running, and exploring. You'll find a new secret spot every time!Upvoted Mar 27
- Aaron ThornburghAugust 20, 2010Coming from Calvert St, take the path to Montrose Park. At the fork, follow the path around the park. Turn right onto the bridge, pass the gates. There's a concrete bench on the left. It's cool.
- Karina RodriguezAugust 10, 2014This place was great for leisure hiking! Beautiful sites and many picnic areas.
- Michelin Travel & LifestyleAugust 2, 2011With 13 miles of bridle paths, the park makes a great place to ride. Located next to the Nature Center, the Horse Center offers riding lessons, guided trail rides, & pony rides. -- Green Guide Editor

- BikaboutJanuary 27, 2017Rock Creek Trail stretches from Lincoln Memorial clear up to the Capital Crescent Trail near Silver Springs, MD. Beware that some spots have seriously rutted pavement. www.bikabout.com/washington-dc
- Eric BeardApril 6, 2011Great trail here, goes all the way to the Lincoln Memorial. I used to live in Woodley Park and would run out there and back. It is also good for bike rides.
- Mason W.August 29, 2015If you're biking, it's very hilly and the bike infrastructure isn't that great. Went into the park on a whim and was caught off guard.
- Alicia DunnFebruary 20, 2013I have only done the trail that was blazed blue, it is good for when you are coordinating with a city friend who is afraid of the suburbs.
- Walk/ run your dog on the far side of the creek to avoid traffic, then go over the bridge for picturesque views of the water rushing by.
- Presidential LibrariesJanuary 24, 2011President Reagan didn't always have to go back to his ranch in California to get a taste of the great outdoors. In 1983, he went horseback riding at the Park Police facility here in Rock Creek Park.
- Its very peaceful but make sure you're wearing boots or trail sneakers. Very rocky trails.
- The best bike route is the one from Arlington to Rosslyn. The Georgetown trail connecting it to Rock Creek sucks, but it's worth it.
- Erik WempleApril 13, 2010Run the hill that descends from Calvert, just by Open City cafe. Do it many times, many times---at least five. Set a goal of passing at least one biker on the way up.
- DorisOctober 5, 2012Need to recenter? 10 min at one of the car stops next to the river on beach drive will do the trick ! #thankmelater
- Biking, hiking, concerts, etc! If you live right behind, you may spot an occasional deer in your yard! :)
- MsTwixt MsTwixtNovember 2, 2013Do this drive/hike in late Oct/early Nov for gorgeous Fall foliage in downtown DC
- When on the track go to the right with walking & running starting out...
