If you want to go for a peaceful run or bike ride, avoid during the weekends - the loop gets packed with tourists and other runners and bikers. Great workout though!
One of my favorite places in New York City! Note: there is a bathroom adjacent to the Columbus Circle entrance. Make sure you take care of business before heading into the park; bathrooms are scarce!
The hills of Central Park! There are 2 sets: the cat hills ~.25 miles just west of The Met and the Harlem hill ~.8 miles between W96 and the NW corner of the park.
Hands down the best 6.1 mile loop in New York City. Rival for best city run in the world in my book. Full of great views, people, and beautiful park. Harlem Hill is a proper climb.
Lower loop is always crowded with tourists... It hurts when you run into them on a bike and you don't get any extra points like when you do it while driving.
